who's coming for the U/SA shootout in columbus

alright, i've heard about a herd of fords being built, an old mopar got enough HP off to be a player, even the once infamous Rambler wagon has inquired, and i heard maybe a truck is trying to weasel back into U/SA...but what about the caddy bob's been awful quiet...

anyone wanting to chuck a few bucks up for the CLASS run-offs for us slower guys just contact beard, or post on here...and thanks to thos who did already !

it's easy to have fun when you're on the track so long :)

Re: who's coming for the U/SA shootout in columbus

Well, I'll be out there with SOMETHING but I don't know if it will be a U car or if it will even be driving the rear wheels. I guess that I could bring the 1K car but that would be like bringing a bag of marshmellows to a gunfight. And then there's that whole "integrity" thing. I wouldn't want to go destroying the "integrity" of Stock Eliminator now would I? Of course I could just title and tag it and drive it out there because, ya know, it is a real car with a real VIN but that's another type of "integrity" now, isn't it?

Re: who's coming for the U/SA shootout in columbus

This is an independent event. Bags of marshmallows are required (those toasted coconut ones would be AWESOME!), and any gunfights will be solely administered by Grand Marshall Denysenko. Anyone displaying integrity will be flogged.

And if you can get the line lock to work on the Turismo, that would be great! I've had trouble wearing out the tires.

Remember, following Lucas Oil Class Eliminations, there will also be a Junior Stock Shootout, sponsored by Hammerhead and the Buckeye S/SS Series. No additional entry fee, open to any car in K/S (K/SA) or slower classes. (includes D/PS-slower, S/GTF-slower, and FWD cars)

Details on the front page of the flyer, available at http://www.looserocker.com/?page_id=27

Jack, Don't let Billy give you the run around here.
He's got what's probably the second or third best combo for U/SA waiting in the wings..

He just needs some encouragement from us..
C'mon Billy...NO AHFS!

There is going to be more than one surprise in U/SA.
It will be very interesting!

Bad thing is, it's gonna take 12's to be a player. My car (if it's ready and done by then) won't be there, yet. Timing will be the issue with our car. Do we have to pre-enter or can we pay at the gate? If we show, somebody is probably guaranteed a 1st rd win in class, imagine we'll be the slowest car there.

Tod made a comment to me the other nite though. If all these Fords show up. Shaw's Caddy made an appearance. Jack's Wagon, Billy's 1K car. Add a PU or two, plus whatever other combinations show. U/SA eliminator will look like a "Buy Here, Pay Here" car lot! On top of that could be the class with the most entries. Be like running class was 35-40 some years ago.

Maybe I spoke out of turn. Have all the trucks been factored out? Still ought to be an interesting mix of cars.

Captain Jack, I think there is a new player in the U/SA wars, if this is true and he decides to come to Class Nationals, you better bring your A-game, this guy doesn't bring a knife to a gun fight. J.Gower M/S 3058

Hammerhead / Buckeye S/SS Series JUNIOR STOCK

WHEN
Lucas Oil Class Eliminations will be run to completion before any of the Friday night shootouts. Following Class, the three bonus races (Junior Stock, Quick Fuel Quick 32 Stock, Quick Fuel Quick 32 Super Stock) will take place at the same time, each run in rotation.

WHO
Junior Stock is not a qualified field. It is open to all cars in K/S, K/SA, D/PS, SGT/F and slower classes, and FWD classes. This will probably end up being 30-40 cars. It is free with your regular weekend entry.

HOW
Junior Stock will be run just like a regular eliminator, with the eligible cars placed on a ladder based on the morning's two regular Qualifying runs. Dial-In format with Heads-Up runs in effect as applicable.

Because Junior Stock will be run at the same time as Quick 32's, one car cannot run both. If you qualify for the Quick 32 but would rather run Junior Stock, please notify us of your intentions ASAP so we can generate ladders properly.

Well, not a good one but the 93 f-150 with a 300 six fits U/SA but that's at 190hp! Not sure if I'd want to try that one. I had that exact truck and stock with 3.08's ran 19's I think it was. Who knows where it was on weight/etc but I'm thinking 4 -5 seconds would be pushing it.

If I recall correctly, at the original US Classnationals, the class with the most entries was G/SA,,, Nitro Joe can probably elaborate. There were also a lot of A & B/SA cars. I'm not sure there will be more than 16 U/SAs, but you never know. It looks like Ed has put together at least 16 cars for the SS/K Shootout. My 2 cents,, see you there.

My stock 96 (same basic truck) with the 3.08's and a K&N filter has run a best of 18.20@70 MPH. Getting it to U/SA times would be quite a task (not even sure it would be doable), but it sounds like a fun task! Now that it is wearing out a little bit, I was starting to toy around with the idea of rebuilding it anyways...

Here here Billy
(yet another reason I like and respect you so muchI would build one of those bogus *** 350 Olds Cadillacs for U/SA, I may have lost a lot physically but I still have my integrity, meanig that I could not bring myself down low enough to that level to run something so obviously under rated and blatantly bogus no offence to the guys running them, but shame on NHRA for allowing it for so long (especially in SS) just like they did with Bob Dennis's bogus non existent 260 4 barrel Olds in U/SA until I finally presented Bruce with a copy of the GM blue print for the actual intake showing it as a DUALJET unit but how many thousands in class and qualifying dollars did that guy rob from other racers until it was finally corrected even after Al Provost and Arlen Fadley told Danny that it was bogus he still did nothing about it ;(

I believe that the Seville was put in the guide with the original factory horsepower rating like many other cars were. How is that considered bogus? I sold these cars when they were new and they certainly were not fast!

Drop it to 155hp like the carb'd one would help, but man, dropping 6 seconds? That's quite a bit, especially when your looking at a 143hp 302 sitting in the corner.... not lazy, but not crazy either! LOL!
