Stolen rig

Kenny Wigington posted this on the .90 forum but I thought it would get some more viewers here. David Tatum III had his 67 Chevy II SG car and 28 ft white Goldrush trailer stolen out of his yard south of Atlanta. It is the ex David Watson car. Really nice piece. 582 Wilkerson engine.
Keep an eye out and see if we can help get Davids stuff back. My son called and said it was on the 6 pm news so word is out locally.

Thank you Stewart, I was trying to do that and was having phone issues again. This is happening WAY too often, and down in our area, for whatever reason. Need some "public deterrent" to make em wonder if it's worth it......

That's a sickening sight...such a great car too. They announced it over the PA at the Gators and I was sure hoping for a better ending. Did they just take the running gear and take a chainsaw to the body?

It does make you sick to your stomach a guy works hard all his life to have what he has dreamed of and some low life who has probably never had a real job comes along and decides hes going to take it ! and isnt even smart enough to take it apart with out hacking it up. May God help someone find these people and see that they get what they deserve.
God Bless you David and they wont keep you down.

We have 10,000 square miles just west of me (western Arizona), for people like this. They will never be found.

This makes me sick to my stomach. As most of you know I suffered a similar theft loss(not as bad as this) about a year ago. My loss(not insured) was in the neighborhood of $30000. I was fortunate that the Sheriffs Department was able to recover about half of it. I know of at least five other thefts like this in the past year. Most were from an enclosed trailer. This type of theft is increasing. I want to encourage every racer on the forum to at least check on insuring your racing operation. It is very inexpensive and there are several companies that offer these policies. You can ask other racing friends who insures their operations, do an internet search, or send me a pm and I will give the information I have. Just for the record I am retired from the insurance industry and have nothing to gain from anyone buying a policy. Mike McMahan

Re: Stolen rig

Really hate to hear this and especially to see the results. The person doing this knew exactly what they wanted to do, and was probably not the first time.
Reminds me of Carl Battis post a few months ago... police knew of a ring, and were watching them...
If the cops know for sure, but wont/cant do anything, maybe they need to drop some names and let others take care it?
Cops are handcuffed so much in todays politically correct world, it makes a lot of them sick too. I have family in law enforcement, and politics control everything...

No.

That is far too good. Too quick and easy.

They need to die over about a week's time.

Then they need to be left on display, as warning, for another week.

Even better. I wasn't thinking quick, however. I was thinking blowing their junk off with a shot gun, right after both knee caps so they could not go for help. Just bleed out.

It is very sad indeed. I insured all my stuff a month ago. First time to insure but it seems the odds are creeping up.

Re: Stolen rig

This is terrible. The remains were found in Ga. west of Atlanta. I read that the gutted trailer was recovered in DeKalb County.

It almost seems like whoever did this wanted it to be found. You don't just dump a car like that out in the open unless you were trying to send a message. Usually stuff like this is chopped up, never to be seen again. This is just my opinion.

looks like they torched the front and rear clips off, everyone has to look out for "parts for sale" Especially the "glass parts" Front end, doors. (probably sanded and primed by now)

Also check scrap metal yards to see if anyone dropped off moly tubing scrap.

And those body parts wont fit a reg Chevy II either. they are special to that manuf. The suspension and engine will likely end up on some damn grudge racers junk. I am really hoping , with the attention, and heat on this one, somebody will start talking......

Re: Stolen rig

A couple of years ago while we were at the bowling green national open in may we came home to find we had been robbed again,, john deer 4 wheel drive loader tractor, potable welder and tools. I put the word out at the local junk yard, a couple of days later I was in there and an employee approach me with some info, ended up the to thief had a dispute and one ran his mouth, told the employee were the tractor was, 100. Dollars later she gave me a guided tour to were the tractor was..... it was, but trashed out. Known methheads, insurance paid me,found out who it was, local states attorney would,nt pursue with charges on the *******,three weeks later he rammed a county sheriff suv vehicle, charges filed on that one, he is now a judge........ politics yes.

I agree, the stuff will probably end up in the Grudge Racing scene. Those are the guys that would help find the stuff. Hopefully he has friends in that scene that can keep their eyes and ears open. Usually with crimes there is always one moron who cant keep his mouth shut, hopefully it will lead to something useful.

Not a bad idea Ed, but maybe remove their nose and lips with vise grips, just clamp and twist and let them live, and have to explain for the rest of their lives how they earned their body modifications.

We have a small animal sanctuary here. If we have a dead calf we take it up there and they feed it to the lions and tigers. I have seen them eat. Its not a pretty sight. I say break both their legs and throw them over the fence. Then sit back and watch the show.

Hopefully you will do something like this in Charlotte at the 4 Wides. I'll certainly buy some tickets or at least make a donation.

That's how they caught the guys that broke into my trailer. They were street racing with the engine they stole from me and one of them got stopped. He was then not smart enough to keep his mouth shut. He then implicated the others and they were all picked up. Still hoping that they get major time. Mike McMahan
