Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
Sunoco gave Nhra a cool 1.2 million to become the official fuel for Nhra in 2015. Better than the 10 million that they give nascar. Right now they have no replacement for C25, I guess they wanted to slow down some of the cars. They also do not have nitro, only vp or Don Schumacher can get nitro into the states. Hope it all works out. Tom

Re: Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
Saw on other sites VP and other brands still will be able to be run in Stock and Super Stock. Problem being if the VP doesn't pass only Sunoco will be available at the track.

Re: Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
I`m ok with it. I`ve never had a problem with Sunoco Purple passing fuel check.

Re: Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
Sunoco should be able to come up with whatever race fuel blends are needed. Renegade and all the other brands currently on the approved list will still be legal.
There are a number of sources for nitro, so that shouldn't be a concern. |
Re: Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
I just bought my years supply of Sunoco standard and it was $432 with tax for 55 gal. The same exact price as last year. Roundy round shops seem to be the only ones that stock and supply sealed barrels in my area, since they sell large quantities that helps us.

Re: Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
I stated in another thread Sunoco is the official fuel of IHRA and as I recall a gallon of purple at US 131 was reasonably priced around 8 bucks a gallon. I am tired of buying $12-14 dollar a gallon fuel anyway.

Re: Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
I Have used Sunocco Purple for years in my Max Wedge with 11 to 1 compression and never had it fail. I get a barrell delivered to my house when I need it.

Re: Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
Right now Sunoco has no replacement for C11, from what I have heard comp pro stock and prostock MC will have to run Sunoco and late season testing has not been good. Will know after PRI if VP will have there own contingency out side of NHRA. Tom

Re: Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
my understanding is Comp can run either VP or Sunoco fuels---Pro Stock Car & Pro Stock Motorcycle must run Sunoco fuel --- Sunoco fuels are mandatory only in those 2 classes--- that's unless things have changed --
as far s C-11 go to the website smithtex.com they break down many popular racing gasolines as to their characteristics so you might be able to clarify what is C-11 in the Sunoco line up=== otherwise I would contact Sunoco ask them what is their equivalent to C-11 FED387 |

Another reason I'm glad I moved to metro Phoenix....Purple at the Love's Gas Station, across I-10 from Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, is $7.49 a gallon, and I've been using it since I found out the gas station sold it...at the pump no less!!!! :) |
Re: Sunoco offical fuel for 2015
All stock/superstock can still use VP, no reason to be in a hurry to switch.

Talked with a VP rep at the nationals at Maple Grove, he said that VP will be at all Divisional events.
