Hi gang - Well as they say better later than never - and it applies to me as I got here after the 9pm gate closing and was not allowed to enter the pits and will now stay here in the field till 7am or so .

Tomorrow is to be test n tune but the forecast is a little iffy - we'll just have to wait and see .Speaking of seeing - has anyone seen the boss 'yo Ken' around tonight ? I've been ducking him as he'll probably give me the speech about docking my pay for being late tonight .

Like they say .......in the mornin'.

Good morning kids - Here is the latest - I'm told the test n tune is on hold for the moment as its not rainng but the fog / moisture hasen't burned off just yet .As you'll see from the pics its not very pretty out this am but this is Maple Grove and anything can happen .

So much for the boss helping out this morning - he picked me a nice pit spot next to his so he could keep an eye on me - trouble is I've had to put plenty of lumber under my jacks to get level and now the coach is doing a small wheelie - thanks Ken , you're the best !

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse this morning Ken tells me he's saving a spot for a friend - wouldn't you know it - now i'm surrounded by Shelbys as Billy Hawk decided to make a guest appearance this weekend .Whats next ......Maybe there's some space next to the port- a - potties for me to park .

Any good news ? At least on the other side of me is Lynn & Rich Aman and their cute yellow lab ..........Rich tells me he can't wait to hit the asphalt as his Camaro is flyin' thanks to a new Ficcaci powerplant .

OK- more whine ......after sitting in staging lanes for more than two hours we finally got to go down the track - bad air and no traction .One pass -$75 .And a huge and I mean huge storm is about to hit ........batten down the hatches bigtime .or maybe it will miss us .........

Great news - Today my record improved .We had two - count 'em two major storms come by and missed us -- therefor improving things for me.So much for me making it rain ...........OH, BTW -- its now raining - but we're done for the day so it doesn't count .

The CBS News had pictures of hail in Reading-it looked like snow and broke car windows-you guys did get quite lucky.

Tremendous amount of cars totaled here in the Wyomissing area. Windshields and back windows blown out and the rest of the car looks like the surface of a golf ball. Leaves and branches everywhere and on the roads/sidewalks. Definitely dodged one at the track.

I was on the east side of Reading at about 3:00 this afternoon and drove thru what looked like huge blobs of rain. I knew it must have been very close to hail. By the time I got to the gate at the racetrack the young guy there was on the phone with somone who was telling him her car was just trashed from the hail. He did not know what to do or say. We were very lucky here. It poured hard at 9 pm.....

Good morning - And what a difference a few hours makes as this AM is nothing short of awesome with blue skies and plenty of sunshine greeting us .Gone are the hail storms and nearby tornados along with the rain that came with them .The temps are now in the mid-fifties and climbing fast burning off the dew in the process .Humidity is up but is rapidly burning - barometer is in the toilet for this neck of the woods at 29.30 - yeah, I know we're spoiled but .........And the DA is up at 1400' feet at this early hour .

Day One here at Maple Grove will kick off with Stock going out at 8:30 ............

Today is an entirely different story - Stock just got their first hit and a great many hit the trigger - its fast with plenty of traction for everyone .......I'll post some numbers when they become available.

Stock is done with their 2 qualifying shot. There should be clean ups if the weather hold up. Its nice now about 73, but we are supposed to get a shower later.

SuperStock got their first pass in followed by Stock who got their second which was probably a solid 5 to seven hun slower from my point of view .S/S out again in a few .

Believe it or not sheets are not available yet to me .....soon I hope.

Wow on that underhood shot! If there is an Academy Award for best depiction of a belt tensioner in an action film you are gonna be up on stage making a speech.

I notice the Canadians in SS are all in the top third of the field. Go Canada. :)

Holy smokes... that shows how violent it is for an engine to be on a two-step, especially a blown engine. That can't help the reliability of that setup.

Were are still racing, clean ups should start soon for the late comers. Looks like a great turnout for this week , and the weather has been
cooperating. In fact its been down right pleasant.

Here is Mike Ficacci driving Anthony Bongiovanni's 2012 Cobra Jet. This is the same car I drove last year in G/SA. It now has a blower motor in it. The car is a blast to drive, on this pass he went a 9.05 at 149 in SS/CA. At etown it will be back in stock. Dang, I should have waited another year to get the Shelby done.
