It is a gorgeous day here in Bowling Green! Test and tune is going on today. We are just about to go down the track. Looks like the whole weekend is going to be just perfect racing weather! Come on down, up or however and join us! The amusement park and water park is open, too~

It is a beautiful day today! Just made our 1st run of the day. 59 stockers here. Record runs being made today, too. Gary Summers won Class in Topeka yesterday and is here going for the U/SA record. Just went a 13.01 off a 14.85. The grandkids are here and are going to the amusement park shortly. Lots of things going on. Combo race tonight!

What a beautiful day indeed! It's also a big change from the cold and rainy conditions at Norwalk last week. It is shockingly fast out here -- guess that's what an actual barometer can do for you! The car was every bit as fast as Norwalk's average runs, and topped the mph mark by a smidge, despite a DA 1000' higher. 76.3F, 51%, 29.63, 1914' DA. It's generally calm, but every once in a while we get a rogue burst of a tailwind. Feels good back here in the shade of the treeline!
The time zone change along with a 10am start was nice. That's Ricky Baehr in the black Camaro. Multi-time track champ, former IHRA Summit No-Box World Champ. Already won a combo a week or two ago. Kid is BRUTAL. He turned it -.006 red vs Colvert in the semis. Colvert was dead-on 0. In the finals, he was red. I had a TON of help from a BUNCH of good friends. I love my racing family! I very literally couldn't have done it without them. Almost missed second round when the starter buggered up and was freewheeling. Got it to catch at the last possible moment. Big thanks to Kevin Cradduck, Alan Roehrich, a gentleman whose name I didn't catch, and Ricky Baehr. Got by, and then barely got the starter changed in time for third round. THEN was just about out of gas, and there was no one at the fuel pumps. Greg and Andrew Hill jumped in to get me through. What a night! Thanks again to NitroPlate for another big money S/SS race! |

Now I don't feel so bad about that hour long phone session while I was driving and you were driving on Friday. I thought I was the one that got pumped up. Looks like you did an outstanding job. So Jim has made a transition from Sprint Cars to Super Comp. I sure hope he overcomes the urge to turn left:eek: when he gets up to speed.:D Hope you guys have some good luck and a safe race. |

Jim still has the asphalt sprint car. He also probably has the only all aluminum 410 cubic inch, methanol injected, dry sump Super Comp hard tail dragster.

Although the record from B.G. will not initiate the AHFS, I believe there will be another hit coming Tuesday for the U/SA-302 combo from the Topeka race.

Bowling Green is a great place to race! Congrats to Michael for his Nitro Plate race win! It hasn't been mentioned yet, but Alan Mackin also set a National Record. Alan set the N/SA record at 11.82 and 110MPH. Congrats, Alan!!!!! Alan and I got to run side by side, in the first 4 cylinder stock 11 second run. Alan went 11.82 and I went 11.92. That was fun!

Hey guys, sorry I didn't do any more posting on here from Beech Bend. It was such a beautiful weekend, I just sat around enjoying it all! Chris, Keisha, Aubrey, and Reagan came up and stayed with us too, so it was a really nice family getaway. They enjoyed going up to the amusement park and riding all the rides and playing at the waterpark, too. Congratulations to Matt Antrobius for his stock win and Ryan Richardson for his Super Stock win! And of course, congrats to Michael Beard for his big Combo win! And Jeff Colvert for his runner-up in Combo!

Got some in-car video from the weekend. Didn't get 2nd round due to almost missing the round from the starter fiasco, and didn't get the semis or finals because the GoPro battery went dead. Please excuse the really bad sound and shaky camera!
Like Alan, I was wondering who was doing photography at the event? I'd like to get some from the weekend. |
