Oldest driver & car partnership

This question may be asked before, but I am new to this forum.

My question is there a driver has bought their car brand new in the 1970s, built into a Stocker or Super Stocker , and still races it today.
Same driver, same car, even if they may changed classes several times.

I am amazed at how many 1970s muscle cars are still drag racing competitively today.
I am from a Road Racing background, and outside the Historical Racing categories, a 10 year old car is considered old in Road racing.

Larry Jewell SS/DA '67 Corvette

My Dad ordered the car in the fall of '65 and took delivery of it January 2nd '66. The car is an original '66 427/425 4-speed car. Converted it to a '67 in the mid-70s so he could run an automatic behind a big block in Super Stock. He's been racing it since he bought it. He still has the window sticker and a bunch of the original parts.

There are quite a few.

Larry Jewell had his car since brand new. Same with Red LeBlanc and his SS/G '69 Mustang. I believe both took their honeymoon in their cars, if I remember correctly. Ben Wenzel won Indy in 1967 in his then-B/S '67 Z 302 Camaro. Still runs it to this day in D/S, and won Norwalk a few years ago. Bill Davis has owned his current SS/D '67 Camaro since brand new. There are probably many other stories like these.

At least a few up here in Div.6. Jim Devines G&H/S 340 4speed 72 Duster was bought new in 72, and John Buczynskis E/SA 340 AAR Cuda are still activly raced by their origional owners. Also, Dave Wren owns the same 63 Max Wedge Plymouth that he runnered up at the 68 Winternationals in S/S, as well as the 68 Hurst Hemi Barracuda that he bought new. Neither are campained in Stock or S/S anymore, but both have been down the track in the past 2 years. Although they didn`t buy them new, Jim Isherwoods SS/DA Hemi Belvedere has been raced since new, and Jim Has owned it since 1978. Although it hasn`t been out in a few years, Cyrus Gallants A&B/SA 70 SS 454 Chevelle ragtop has been in his posession since 1974. Jim Johnstons raced his 55 Chevy SS/OA as a Modified Production car in the mid-late 60s, and has been a S/S car for about the past 15 years or so, after spending many years as "driveway art."

my dad, who is 68 bought his 68 427/435 4 speed corvette in 1970. He raced it as a street car until 73. Its been a race car ever since. Its back to being a 435 and hopefully soon it will be back to a 4 speed.

I think John Dinkel's Stage 3 Max wedge car might qualify for this list?

Anyone confirm this?

Thanks Doug for thinking of me. Readers digest story. My girl friend bought the 67 Plymouth new while I was in Vietnam Nam. Came home got married, and made the Plymouth a race car in 1975, and we are still racing today.
