OK. I'll give this a try. Got here today and they let us pit. I'll try to post some pictures as the weekend goes on. Calling for rain tonite but rest of weekend looks good. Temps in the 80's. As of now the only other class car here other than Charlene and me is Grant Singer. They are working hard here to make this a successful race and I think it will be.

Ok Bob its all you this weekend to keep us up to date on the racing as I am sitting out this one after getting my *** handed to me in a first round heads up by Angela Bushmaker. Have a motor that needs to be faster so that doesn't happen again. I think div 6 will be out numbered by all the stick cars from div 5. Hope the track is as smooth as it was in the past. I will miss the beautiful drive of Idaho and Montana. Good luck to you and Charlene this weekend watch out for wildlife running across the track after the finish line.

Thanks Patsy and James. Not much to report today. Parking day today. Test and tune tomorrow. Raining here right now but the rest of the weekend is looking good. Supposed to clear soon. We'll post some qualifying sheets when they become available. This is the weekend schedule as per div 6 website.

I was not the only one that got put in the trailer in the first round by a heads up race, so was the guy giving me a hard time. That race seemed to have a lot more heads up races then normal 3 in the first round then 1 in the fourth round.

Not much to report since its parking day. A few more racers are here. Art Congdon with his GT/?A super stocker, Mike Graham all the way from Arizona, Ryan Warter with his J/SA Firebird, Randy Hastings with his K/SA Volare, Terry Hembree with his D/SA Camaro. I know there is more cars than this but these are the ones I can see as of now.

A nice day here today. Warm with a 7-8 MPH tail wind. 76 degrees, BP 26.08, DA 6315. If I can get any info on cars testing today I'll post them.

That's because its out in the middle of no where, nothing but grass & a bar/restaurant on Hiway 3 maybe 4 miles away and about 15 miles north of billings. Its a real nice facility though and Im glad to see NHRA back after many years gone. No noise problems here.

the Bob Reynolds Mustang - previously belonged to John Gass from here in Great Falls (MT)... May have belonged to Brian Cour before that (I don't know?)... Gass always said he bought the car from Carl Holbrook outta Michigan... Dave Kommel has some photos of Gass's car on his FB page...

Sorry for the lack of reports as the internet signal here for some reason disappeared. I'm not able to post a sheet because this reports on my phone. We got in 3 rounds of qualifying before the rains came. In super stock Carroll Warling is #1 at .915 under. 18 cars in SS. In stock I was stupid enough to run 1.01 under for number one position. At least it's a one hit deal so it shouldn't be reviewed. Again I apologize for not being able to post any sheets but it's out of my control.

I believe the convertible Mustang is the ex Carl Holbrook car that was bought by an electrician in Billings, his name might have been Bob Reynolds, that was 30+ years ago. I was going to help him but he was more interested in a new top & paint so I lost interest. Never seen it since until today at Acton. It still had Holbrooks name on it when I saw it last & I think it was black but Im old so Im not sure. I used to work a lot with Marty Snowball in Div 2 when I lived in Miami

On a personal note Acton's track is a great track. Its a good hooking track and they treat you great here.

Sadly not alot of S/SS cars from in Montana to begin with. It is quite a haul from the coast or Canada. Damn our big empty state!

They can't get that many at San Antonio which is one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the country.

On a per-capita basis, I think the turnout at Acton was pretty good.

San Antonio is an IHRA track, NHRA down there draw more cars.

The majority of Division 6 racers are located in the western area of the division around Vancouver, Seattle or Portland (the main population centers). For all these guys it’s a 15 hour or more tow. 12 hours south from Edmonton plus time at the border. Next closest place with a fair concentration of racers I think is Boise and it’s over 10 hours away. 20-30 hours round trip travel time for most of us!
Ed…..Texas isn’t the only place that’s big! ;-)

I remember a large number of stock and super stockers coming out of the Helena area and Missoula area years ago. I am aware of a few class cars tucked away, they just need a reason to come out {$******

Looks like they were only able to get three rounds of stock and two in Superstock today. We left after I lost in the second round. Sitting in a truck stop in Great Falls MT and actually have great internet. It was a good race other than the fact they maybe should have gone right into eliminations this morning instead of giving one more qualifying run they might of been able to finish the race before the rains hit. Its too bad about the small car counts (super comp I think had seven or eight). But over all the race was fun. Got lots of runs and meet some div 5 racers I haven't seen for a while. The traction was great. I did like the fact almost 50% of the stockers had a clutch! LOL.

Congratulations to Terry Anderson and Clarence Bidniak on their wins in Super Stock and Stock this weekend (or should I say Monday morning) in Acton Montana. :)
