LIVE from St. Louis NHRA Div 3 LODRS

Schmancy! Got started on my first trip to Gateway Motorsports Park at 4am, chunked a trailer tire in the pouring rain somewhere west of Terre Haute, and got here late, and wound up with a great pit spot complete with speakers, oil dump station, portojohns, and a fence to tie the ez-up to, all just two rows away from the staging lanes and the M/T and VP trailers. Only missed one session. Got teched in, cleaned the car up a little aaannnd... Sprinkles. Super humid, but not overbearingly hot. Overcast with a crosswind. 85.8deg, 66%, 29.41 for 3152' DA and a soggy .81 vapor pressure. It's not doing much, so we should be back to live action shortly. Stock and Super Gas are through with Q2, with Top Dragster on deck.

Yep, got back at it. Into Comp now. As always, more pics on www.facebook.com/LooseRocker

I hope you brought ear plugs or they turned off/ repaired those speakers. They have been messed up all year and are louder than a fuel car explosion on one side and dont work on the other. Sorry about the bad news Good luck this weekend.

At least you will not miss your call to the lanes, and if mother nature calls your close! You may be completely deaf by the end of the weekend, you got any ear muffs?

Michael Beard 08-08-2014 07:10 PM

Re: LIVE from St. Louis NHRA Div 3 LODRS

I'm half deaf anyway (ask my wife) so the speakers are just right. ;-)

Got through with Super Stock's second session, but sprinkles returned midway through Super Comp. Qualifying sheets shown are after Q2 Stock, Q1 SS.

Will some one photo shop Mike's car so it will have the speakers on top if it like the Blues Brothers car.

Good luck to all!

Had a short little sprinkle this morning, but it's long gone now. We've jus been sitting. Well, I was sitting, applying some decals on Brad Plourd's dragster. Not sure what's up, rumour has it something with the timing system... Must be different than last night. I figured the cleanup run would either be real late if at all, so I'd headed for the hotel (an adventure in itself), but I read a couple facebook posts saying they were down for awhile last night due to skunks in one of the timing beam holes downtrack. LOL Heard there were as many as five of them. And yes, everyone has already said, "Well that stinks!"

Don't get all excited! It wasn't anything that qualifies as actual mechanical work. As noted earlier, had to change a trailer tire in the rain on the way here yesterday. No biggie.

Sounds like we're back to live action, with the last qualifying session for Super Street.

Re: LIVE from St. Louis NHRA Div 3 LODRS

Michael there is an aluminum drive on ramp that is designed for tandam axle trailers. Few years back with our ProMod car our driver who also was the only one that drove the RV would drive 80+ mph and we got tired of changing the flats so we found that drive on ramp, it was a life saver.

Good luck this weekend, clean your finger nails and kick some ***!:D

Re: LIVE from St. Louis NHRA Div 3 LODRS

They are made by trailer aid. They are about 30 dollars. I have the plastic one (they make a aluminum one too) and it has changed a couple tires on my triple axle stacker with no problems. Saves a bunch of time on the side of the road.

Thanks Rob could not remember their name but they sure are handy, we would take 3 spares with us by the end of the race weekend we had none...LOL

Re: LIVE from St. Louis NHRA Div 3 LODRS

Open trailer, so it's easy to jack up. Sounds very handy for an enclosed for sure!

Round 1 is in the books for S/SS (into T/D right now with T/S having their call to the lanes.). Didn't take notes, but off the top of my head I recall Tim Gillespie with a heads-up win first round. Brian Siebenick went out. Chuck Weber is collecting points. Brad Plourd gave it up by .00x to Buth (W/S wagon), and I think Marty got by as well. Randi Lynn Shipp, Drew Skillman, and Bruno Massell moved on.

Didn't get to watch Super Stock as I was at the back of the line. I had a good race with Rylee Stufflebeam who narrowly broke out, and I heard Ricky Decker got by Aaron Disinger. Joe Ewing and Dan Kyle were in line in front of me at the VP trailer, so I assume they're in as well.

It's rather tricky out there, and I'm not sure why. I watched the round of Stock and didn't learn a thing. Some picked up 1, many were slow. Super Stock was the same way... It was either fast or slow, depending on who youtalk to.

Thanks for the update

Make sure that the portacan truck driver is not eating a ham sandwich when he puts the sucker hoses in the portacan.

Anybody know what engine combo is in the r/s 66 bel air wagon?

Re: LIVE from St. Louis NHRA Div 3 LODRS

It's listed as a 283 in the qualifying data.

Re: LIVE from St. Louis NHRA Div 3 LODRS

The event is now posted on Drag Race Central, but the website is having a few problems with the home page. To find the reports for final qualifying and eliminations, click on the LODRS button near the top of the page, or the "More News" dropdown at the top of each report list on the home page.

I don't know when the racing was finished, but I received the results with a 2:42 A.M. timestamp on the e-mail. Well, at least my mailbox received it, I was asleep by then.

Dont filter on D3-5, either. DRC seems to have it's filter out of whack.
