Hemi Shootout predictions
Decisions, decisions the Spyphish will make,
how many of his army should he take. Charlie and Ray's versions both seen the war, but RMRE has big powder in the bore, Always looking for spark to light that bore, the secret to that just might be Firecore. NHRA will be checking all the racers, looking at scoops and cyl head spacers. The heads must be free of "external modification" or the ones involved will take a vacation. Parts and pistons should be free of all coating, or next year they will spend 6 months boating. Black Arrow has Perkins on the dyno as we speak, Better hurry with the power, got less than a week. David's ride was gone and he was feeling blue, but who should come thru, but Teuton #2 Willie is entered again, which way did he go, I hope this year he's not a "no show". After a 4 year hiatus the Silver Bullet is back, King of Sales is drivin but his crewmember's a quack. The King Cuda just wants to keep from spining, If he runs like last week he could be winning. With Norh Carolina power from Mr Line, and his usual driving he will be fine. The boys from Toronto have been doing a lot of testing, Blue Cuda lookin good, they are never resting. The L&K Cuda could get the nod, if only the engine builder finds a push rod. The Gold Coast Hemi's pit is mowed and neat. The red car's pit has grass knee deep. The Cajun Cuda is making power a ton, looking good with the drivin of Lil Teuton. Hope the rain holds off and the water doesn't pool, wet ground makes the working hard for the Missouri Mule. The darkhorse is said to be Steve Kent, with that big cam, hopes the vales aren't bent. A lot of involvment from engines inc, pro stock info won't let him sink. The CW's have been quiet, not saying much, but still hangin around with power a bunch. they got a new pole to go phisin with, think easy catch of the ole sledphish Sure is good to see the Howes family back, but it is real hard to keep TWO Hemis on the track. Re: Hemi Shootout predictions
Steve Kent has a Trumble engine not RM.

I'm sure he has a Trumble engine. but with RM heads??? hhhhmmmm |
Re: Hemi Shootout predictions
Troy you got your facts mixed up. The motor is a Trumble piece with our own in house heads on it, Steve bought a rocker system from RM and Charlie Westcott ground the cam for me, everything else is 100% our in house stuff at trumbles.

thought the heads on that was some slick rick dude??
|
Re: Hemi Shootout predictions
My apologies, was told of a possible team up situation earlier this year so I naturally assumed two RM engines.
Anyone know if Bucky still has Jason Line Power? |
Re: Hemi Shootout predictions
Ricky McConathy aka "slick Rick" digitized a head our former head porter jimmy bell had done before he died and made some improvements on it, we work in partnership, Ricky and I are and have always been good friends, so even though he's not in our shop I still consider it in house since its exclusively our head...

Re: Hemi Shootout predictions
Watch for some qualifying "games". You're gonna have to be able to go rounds to win it. So it would be a huge advantage to not have to "step on" it until the final. Could be Pancake's year.

was there a problem with C.W. Sr. car at the start?

Re: Hemi Shootout predictions
Congrats to the Westcotts, on another hard earned win!
I watched the live stream, and was afraid they wouldn't show the final. It came on after funny car, and also showed the factory stock final, Helms vs Holbrook. I think you can replay it by getting this link http://espn.go.com/watchespn/player/...ize/condensed/ Replay can be found about 1 hour and 25 minutes into the show, I just checked. On the hemi final.... I was sure CW was toast on the starting line. Wendall's car went into erratic radial tire shake about 330 feet out. Did that kill the run for him? Was that going on all day? What a race to run Howes down. There was close parity this year like no year before. Good job guys |
