Hi gang - Seems like I was just there a few days ago and am not yet there but will be soon as work got in the way again .As most of you already know today was time trials all day and record runs to boot .The only record I could confirm was set by our own Marc LaBrecque in GT / TC - 9.98 @130 but won't be official until after teardown tomorrow morning .

Others - Frank Ferrucci - J/SA
Jerry McNeish - D/S
Jason Kinash - L/SA
Dave Mitchell - K/SA
Dave Thomas - SS/EA
Joe Mendillo - E/M ?
Rich Oakes - SS/CX?
And these will also have to teardown in the AM as well .

Any idea how late they're parking people tonight?

Eddie - I've been told the ticket folks will be there until seven pm .And there is plenty of pit space - even some asphalt spaces .

I know there is the PDRA event in Virginia for Top Dragster/Sportsman. I don't know what happened to Comp round one, but between those three class's there already down 80 cars. :(

Good morning - Welcome to day two @ the Classic .At this moment the Sun is coming up and it could turn out to be a very nice Fall day.Want numbers ? The barometer is steady at 29.53 ( so much for mineshaft conditions ) with the humidity at 64% but with the Sun helping some will burn off .Temp at 48 and the VP at a low .22 withe a final DA of 232' which should make it a faster day than yesterday .We'll see ..........

Anyhow - tech will be open in an hour and there is still plenty of great pit space available so if you're on the the fence all I can say is saddle up and get over here ........Later .

The full schedule is posted under daily info on the Div 1 site, on fri tt's start at 930, stock class starts with the second tt

The baro is good, not great, was only 30perc humidity yesterday, the temp is key.

Looks like the rain will hold off for awhile or maybe all day

the car count is low currently for this event, but rigs have been pulling in and the weather has taken a turn for the better.

42 degrees this am, 36 yesterday

We have our 1st certified national record this morning already thru tech at 920 am

Mark Markow set the SS/TB at 9.02,,,, he was at the teardown at 8 am is done ,P & G'd , measured and carb inspected and a ok.

Congrats to our resident chassis builder Mark and his wife Stephanie, great people and friends.


The pits are filling up, stock is up momentarily, no other cars in tear down, there is however 1 truck, Marc LaBrecque is apart and going thru currently, I believe most others are going to take another shot this morning before going to teardown

They started running at 9:30. Close to finishing Stock Q4 now. Stock class eliminations will be later today, as well as more qualifying and time trials. The schedule calls for 11.50 index, 10.00 index and 8.50 index to close out the day at 5:30 p.m.

Certified record 2 for today is Marc LaBreque in GT/TC at 9.98 in the Diamond RV Markow race cars S10 pickup. They are thru tech and putting it back together currently.

Congrats to Marc, Joanne and certainly engine man Dick Levreault

They have called stock class A-G automatic and singles

little faster today , looks like the rain should hold off until evening

There are probably a group of cars in teardown by now

the hemis ran, heard Barton go a .32 with the stick car

Where is last years Champ (Joe Teuton) an his fleet of cars? Seems each year the Hemi shootout is getting smaller. Pretty soon it will be back to an all Barton affair.

This morning all got to hit the track for a time shot then we went into Class eliminations mode and almost finished ..........but you've already guessed what happened -- its that liquid sunshine stuff again and its not coming down hard but steady .

Just a teaser for Jack if you haven't seen it. Sorry I'm not at the Grove to give you a couple. And you might want to hang on to it as I believe this will be the last Drag Racing Action magazine as I've moved on to start a new drag racing magazine for Xceleration Media Group called Drag Racing Scene. DRA was a great run and I thank all for the support I received. As far as I know, they're killing DRA as both myself and my ad salesman have left. Good morning - Its a great day in the neighborhood - NOT ! ! Hard rains came during the early evening and are still coming down as I type .Today may not be a total washout but I doubt we'll get going until this afternoon at the earliest .

Lets talk racing - yesterday the talk of the pits was the Michigan team of Keener & Mercure with their new '14 Camaro B/S coming in and stealing the locals thunder by landing right on the pole with Paul Mercure at the controls going a nice 9.85 .Thats -1.34 and change if you're counting .Well done guys .In Super/Stock it was Byron Worner taking the # 1 spot in his SS/IA '96 Camaro with a great -1.18 shot going 9.51 and change.

Today we are to have our first rounds - when is anybodys guess .Back later as news developes ............

As of last night, the plan was to start with eliminations in the morning and give one more qualifying shot to Comp, Top Dragster and Top Sportsman. Plans will no doubt change, depending on what the rain decides to do today.

Just announced that Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street will not run today. It is raining again here now so all track drying has been stopped.

They are still going to try to run one round of all the other classes.

Thank you for the quick reply. I was planning on coming out for 11.50 but for obvious reasons I was waiting to see what was going to happen. Do you think they would run them tomorrow or scrap it all together? I would come out tomorrow as long as we could get teched.

OK- So its a slow news day but here's what I've got - Lenny from Ultimate Converters came up this weekend to help out some of his customers and stopped by to say hey to a few friends having lunch - bad choice on his part as far as the seating arrangements go - sitting between these two and being in the converter business just doesn't mix ......Maybe he'll think twice next time as trying to convert them over will never happen .
