Are you kidding me................

Tow 826 miles one way from my home in Division 7 to go race at

Sept. 24-25 Rocky Mountain Raceways West Valley, Utah
Sept. 26-27 Rocky Mountain Raceways West Valley, Utah

Why no Bakersfield or Sac or any other track that is within 500 miles of home..........

If brains where TNT, NHRA couldn't blow their Nose............

Re: 2015 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

I'm guessing that Bakersfield and Sac don't like the costs NHRA charges them to
hold one.

Re: 2015 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

Congrats to Div. 5 on putting the two Div. 5 races at Topeka on the same weekend, sure to raise attendance. Also, put the Div. 5 race at Great Bend and the Topeka nationals back to back and avoided Mothers Day, that is great. But, the Div. 3 race at Joliet is the same date as the Div. 5 race in Brainerd. I guess it saves a long drive to Joliet. Dyno

I can see 2-3 Division 2 races for me, and about the same for Division 3. Glad I'm not inclined to, or in a position to, chase points. Probably think about 2-3 national events, maybe.

I don't think attendance was real good. I know that at least one year recently, we had more cars in the second round at the SportsNational Open at Bowling Green than Atlanta had in the first round. Why they tried 2-3 times to schedule against an extremely popular race in Bowling Green that was a near 40 year Memorial Day tradition I have no idea.

From a Colorado racer`s standpoint,7 races within 550 miles is the best I`ve seen in a long time! I just wish the Topeka double was a couple of weeks later.

Did you move?

Last I looked...

International Raceway Brainerd, Minn. 900+ miles

Tri-State Raceway Earlville, Iowa 800+ miles

I don't understand why they do the back to back to close either...

The Salt Lake double (D7) is 550 and Acton (D6) is as well.

I don't know. Honestly, between work and funding, I can't race that much anyway. I'm going to race where I really want to, where my friends are, and close to home. I simply can't take too much time off or spend too much money. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to chase a championship one day, but I don't see it happening, at least any time soon.

Re: 2015 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

No divisional/national back to back races on the east coast other than Georgia/Gainesville, assuming South Georgia is still operating. But why is 4-wide so early in the year now? Virginia being the weekend before Zmax probably helped that divisional's car count and the chances of rainy weather at the 4-wide just increased. Why doesn't NHRA just push the Gatornationals and Charlotte until after Las Vegas so the teams don't have to drive from Arizona all the way to Florida and then back to Vegas and then back to Houston and Hotlanta? Al Gore would not appreciate this..

Bobby that would make sense. Have you known NHRA to do things that make sense?

Re: 2015 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

Bruton cast the deciding vote on which of his tracks host Nationals and when.....NHRA doesn't have a lot to do with that. Follow the $$$.

Relative to the D2 schedule; I have to hand it to D2 for helping out Montgomery and Rockingham and giving up their Atlanta race (although it might help to have Atlanta as a contingency if the SGMP can't happen). They have really stuck with the 10.0/11.0/12.00 index program and think Montgomery and Rockingham will have good car counts in those and the SS and Stk classes.

Re: 2015 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

Being from the most Southeastern part of Div 4, and only 80 miles from the start of Div 2 presents some problems. Last year running Div 4 did not work well for me. Just had problems getting to the races I needed. So far all the discussion is right on point, and like everyone else, we are just looking for now. At least we got till next year to figure it out. Course Mardi Gras in mixed in there. There are probably about 20 or so of us in the Swamp area that have this issue. Orlando 720 miles, Gainleville 600, Valdosta 530, Montgomery 360, Houston 300, Dallas 500, Shreveport 350, No Problem 40, Oklahoma 3 light years, Bowling Green 625, Indy 900, Diesel Fuel back up in price next year, Lunch now.

I agree with you.....I had planned to really try to run the D2 schedule but I cant do 3 division races in 4 weeks for about another 20 years. Then through a national in there at the end for 4 races in 5 weeks, not going to happen for me. Then schedule Charlotte in March which is traditionally a cold month for us, I'm disappointed to say the least.

Re: 2015 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

I know the schedule has me hitting my head up against a wall....lol. Trying to schedule the .90 Association in decent weekends is going to be tough. June is a wash, along with September & October and the one weekend that we normally have at Atco for our finale is the Bracket finals at Atco this year.

As usual D4 loads up the races in March and April. I don't have the funds to run 5 races in 8 weeks. I get it the weather isn't hot so its a good time to race just expensive and with my job I get one weekend off a month but that's my problem. I'll try to make a few if I can.

Jeff, dumb me, I have been calling that a pound signs for about sixty five years now. Guess I wasn't paying attention in school that day.

Looking at what I spent on diesel last summer, I'm going to look the schedual over, and pick. & choose. No Problem is an expensive trip. May make one of them , not both. Would like to run the Sports Nats.

I'm going to try to make the Div 5 double at Topeka. Closer than a couple of the Div 4 races for me, and only one race worth of diesel. Probably skip the No Problem points race and maybe Houston?
