I will be racing my Mustang in B/SA next year but mostly in the Southern Stock Super Stock Association races.

Re: Cars out of retirement
I plan on running about 15 races this year. About 10 more than last year. Included will be a couple National Events. Additionally, I've budgeted for about 10k -25k for additional parts, and expenses that I wouldn't have invested under the old rules. - Jim -

Bailey, if I had known how you really felt, I might have kept that car.

Re: Cars out of retirement
Consider me out of the loop here, but Jim, do you now have Jeff's Super Bee? If so, I'm jealous!
If I can gather the $$ and it doesn't sell first, there may be a red Belvedere making an appearance before 2015 is over too (wishful thinking). |
Re: Cars out of retirement
Jared when are we gonna see you driving a HEMI again?

Re: Cars out of retirement
I honestly doubt it, but who knows? If opportunity and preparation ever meet...
I'll say this much: it feels like there's more incentive to drag a car like that out now that there are no supercharged cars to play with. I don't know if even the best Hemi could have run with a well-prepared COPO/CJ. |
Re: Cars out of retirement
Jim has the Les Norton, Ronnie West 65 Belvedere and a beautiful car. I think it now has a 2 4bbl motor in Stock Eliminator. History; Les I think sold it to Ronnie West who unfortunately passed away, and his family sold it to Adrian Vega who owns Acadiana Dodge in Lafayette. Adrian was a long time friend of mine. He had the black 65, and new V10 DP (oo7) a nice S/G car along with several really big Indy Cyl Head motors, and lots of parts and stuff for racing. He only rented the track, and brought a gang and had a good time with his cars. Unfortunately soon after getting both the 65 and the DP he was diagnosed with cancer, and it wasn't good. After his untimely demise, I went to appraise the racing operation for the family as they had no interest in any of it. Long and short they asked me to make an offer as they were not interested in it. Jim Bailey got the 65, we now race the DP in SS which Kevin Helms drives. Sold the SG car, sold all the motors (I think there were 8 or 10) and sold the trailer, and I'm not sure what else. That 65 is as nice as any I have seen. Bailey, the driver, needs some help though.

Re: Cars out of retirement
Well we are trying to resurrect my old Corvette Stocker. Mostly still trying to replace all of the stuff that was stolen two years ago. Rules changes probably had less to do with it than the $s to replace all of the stuff that was taken. Still have a few things to go but getting closer. Mike McMahan

Now I present to you one of two options: drag the Super Bee out or ship it to Bakersfield, CA and I'll take care of it for you! I'm kind of partial to the '69 440-6's. |
Re: Cars out of retirement
Hi Chris, maybe I'll have to put the drivetrain from my Demon in one of the A bodies I have sitting around or get off my Harleys and finish my Challenger.
