I Accidentally went too fast !!
With all this "Fast" talk about AA, A and B, I have a question....let me set the stage: I have a really fast B stocker, or a fast A stocker or respectable AA stocker. I've been through tech, and made a good qualifying run, or maybe eliminations have started. The air changes, tail wind picks up, I tuned it up,... whatever..., and I go out and run 9.999. I'm not licensed to go 9.999. I don't have 9.999 safety equipment - trans shield, fire suit, gloves, neck support, Full certified cage (any or all ) etc. What happens now?

You'll be warned not to do it again.

Re: I Accidentally went too fast !!
That has happened to me. Nothing was done or said. Great air and track picked the car up quite a bit from where it usually runs. I am sure you wouldn't want to do that on a regular basis though. My car has all the required certs though.

Re: I Accidentally went too fast !!
You guys are a bunch of comedians!.... I wonder how you'd feel if it was YOU I beat, in a double breakout, when I went 9.999? - lol - .....I guess it's OK, I'd promise not to do it again.

Re: I Accidentally went too fast !!
Jokes aside, if my car ran consistantly within .08 or so of a point at which major changes like going from a roll bar to a cage kick in, I'd add all the safety gear and work to get that ET down there.

Ask Joe Martins it happened to him.

Re: I Accidentally went too fast !!
Happened to several of us. Either warned, or not noticed & mentioned. I would not want to do it a car not certified to run that fast.

If this was qualifying, a verbal warning is normal and second offence you get it in writing and are going home. If you really piss someone off then blacklisted from all your division tracks is also possible. |

Re: I Accidentally went too fast !!

Re: I Accidentally went too fast !!
It looks to me like if your car could accidentally dip into the 9's, then it should already be running very low 10's which means in the right circumstance it has the potential to run in the 9's. So knowing that, you should really have the car certified for that as well as the driver should have all the proper gear in case that were to happen

Re: I Accidentally went too fast !!
Protesting somebody that went 9.99 without the window net up, or multi-layer suit on would be a chickens**t deal.

Re: I Accidentally went too fast !!
In time trials we give 1 warning to slow it then 2nd would be go home. Qualifying pass would be DQ.In eliminations a breakout under a legal et would be ok as long as the dial is a "legal" dial.
