Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
There will be a great chance to brush off the cobwebs the weekend before the Winternationals at AutoClub raceway in Fontana.
I just talked with Brent Cannon at Sceda and they are planning for, not only just SG and SC, but a Stock and Super Stock combo race for both days of the weekend, 31st. Jan and 1st. of Feb. Two separate races and hopes of at least 2 TT before eliminations both days. |

Thanks for the info😀

Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Sounds good. Do you know how much the entry fees per day?

Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Will the stock/super stock combo be a no weight or fuel check, thus no heads up deal?
Will they have fuel at the track to purchase? |

Don't count on fuel sales there, best to bring your own. |
Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Going to run the Sunday race. Won't get there in time to run Saturday race. Hoping if we get there late Saturday afternoon they will let us in the pits for Sunday.

Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Track tech card plus SCEDA member ship plus Stk SS entry equals how much for Saturday? Sorry no Super Bowl Sunday racing for me
100 075 050 225? |
Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Are you saying to race it you have to buy a membership for $100, $75 tech card and $50 entry? Is this correct for a one day race?
|
Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Bob, pricing is $45. to the track & $50. to SCEDA, so $95. per race. You can get the information at www.sceda.com
Bernie, does this mean that you are actually going to grace us with your presence??? I will be there Saturday. It would be nice to get a turnout for this race and the other scheduled SCEDA races. |
Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Thanks Brett. See you there.

Friends this is an opportunity to get something going on a repetitive and consistent basis in SoCal. This has been missing for a long time.
I hope to be there with both cars and urge the rest of y'all to come on out and enjoy the event. |
Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Its been a while since we've been to Fontana's track. Is it gate six just off of San Bernardino Ave you enter to get into the track?
|
Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
I believe that they only use gate 6 for the divisional ,But the normal entrance is off cherry from the I-10 using the main gate entrance. And there is construction going on at the cherry exit so watch out coming end from the east.

Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Gentlemen,
I'm in the military and moved from Virginia to Southern California. I have an IHRA legal stocker. However, it is a crate motor car. According to the SCEDA website only NHRA cars are allowed. I'm unable to attend this weekends race, but am interested in running the other scheduled races. Who is the lead for the SCEDA Stock/SuperStock races? Would you guys allow an IHRA Crate Motor car to participate in the SCEDA series? Thanks, Mike |
Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Once you passed tear down you might get in. Crate motor in So Cal???? May think about converting.

It will be discussed at the race this weekend. What car & motor is it? What IHRA class did you run? |
Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
Brett,
I have an 86 Mustang and run the 302 iron head gt 40 combo. Its rated at 255HP. I run in M/CM. The index is 12.65. At Bakersfield I average 12.00's. Thanks, Mike |
Re: Sceda event at Fontana, Pomona warm-up
UPDATE ------
Gates open at 7:00 am, use Cherry Ave. main gate, pay to race twice, firstly for the track and then you must sign up with SCEDA for the combo in the pits. They will attempt a start for 8:00 for SST, Jrs. and something else. No other knowledge of the run order. Yes, it rained and snowed today. I've always said that Mt. Baldy must have a snow cap for the Winternationals or it'll happen on race weekend, we're safe now ! There's no other nasty weather in the 10 day forecast, whew, cutt'in it close this year. Staci from SCEDA and I talked about, potentially, leaving rigs at Fontana until Monday and then take 'em to Pomona. She will ask track management, stay tuned. See ya there |
