Class run off combos
At class contested National Events and Sports Nationals, will all the FS cars compete in the same combo as the non FS cars? Or will there be separate combos?

Re: Class run off combos
I would imagine they would be in the appropriate combo (auto/stick) if they are a single car in the class.

Re: Class run off combos
Are you thinking that NHRA would have cars that had to conform to the AHFS race against cars that did not have to conform with the AHFS with no break out??????????????
That would just be plain stupid........... NHRA is smarter that that........ Well maybe not...I could be giving NHRA more credit than they deserve.. Just thinking out loud, Bob |
Re: Class run off combos
Bob, that is certainly one of the major concerns. Mark, it could mean 2 more trophies if the FS cars have their own combos, 1 for stick and 1 for automatics. I sure would like to get a solid answer to how this will be handled.

Re: Class run off combos
Thanks, Mike. But will that FS combo be combined with the regular car combo, or do they have their own combo?

Re: Class run off combos
Marty, we (new car guys) don't have our own Combo. There will be a bunch in the Combo at those races.

Re: Class run off combos
Jeff. when the FS cars run in the combo. will they be subject to the AHFS?
|
Re: Class run off combos
No AHFS for all cars newer then 2008 during all class eliminations.

Jeez, they can't afford one more trophy ? Okay two..Another for SS. |
Re: Class run off combos
I would expect they would still have the same stick & auto combos we have today. If you have a FS car with an auto you run auto combo, with a stick you run stick combo. That's the way they have done it with the SS Modified classes since they created the combos.

Re: Class run off combos
I think that it is time for a clarification on the difference between "Factory Stock" and "Factory Shootout".

Re: Class run off combos
OK, so let's see; Which combo does the new cars fit in, stick or auto. That being said where in here is the AHFS? Factory Shootout is easy. FS/A Blown @ whatever weight they fall in, FS/B unblown at posted weights 3250 -400 CIC, 3350 426 CID or so, and V10 3500. The old BB/SA is now some new class with lots of letters and slashes. Now, again that being said, the aforementioned Shoot Out Cars is being looked at now and I don't know what is going on. There are only rumors. And since everything on the internet is always true, I would post the deep dark things I have heard without verification. They might call them (fs cars) something else next year. New Cars this year for Shootout? Allowed Modifications to the existing bodies, motors, weights? Looks like the combos will have at least 4 rounds every race, and maybe 5, especially in Super Stock. How about we throw in all the Comp cars and have a big dial in bracket race, and the comp cars get a tenth run out. And then the modified cars that should have been in comp to begin with, would want to go back to Comp. That would be about 200 classes. Wow. Too much coffee this morning.

Yeah, Jeff, coffee. That's all it is. LOL

Re: Class run off combos
If the FS cars were subjected to the AHFS at all of the events like the "regular" Stockers are, it would save on some confusion.
