Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Drew's car picked up 4 but Jason edged him 6.545 to Drew's 6.556, light's were .038 to .042, great debut.

Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Been glued to ESPN3 all day, if the rest of the season is like this, we will see some gooood racin' this year.
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Awesome job Drew, especially for your first race in Pro Stock! Looking forward to seeing him keep winning rounds this year! I like having someone to root for in Pro Stock.

Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
He was something like .018 from being the first person in 40 years to win in his debut in Pro Stock. Cool customer for sure! It's refreshing to see a team with serious resources step up from Sportsman Racing and play with the big boys.
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Great debut by an obviously well prepared team. Way to go Guys.
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
too bad the first race didn't win just wait and see he will get his first pro win very soon
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Guess the days of paying your dues are over. Just write a check...and have Dad sign it.
Grose was the REAL story of PS. |
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
cudadoug, What are you talking about? All of the Skillman family are good hard and smart working people. Drew had a great day at the races, so please don't pour cold water on him.
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Sour grapes from a key board jockey, cudadoug. Fantastic debut for the Skillmans. They worked for it.
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Great job Drew !!!! A fine young man . Sorry Cuda some people make good decisions in life and some dont ! This young man is hard working and respected by all the racing industry PS and one Hell of a driver
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
I wasn't aware that money controlled the timing of releasing the clutch and shift points, and steered the car. Drew's paid his dues the last couple years, kicked a bunch of tails doing it, and he's a nice kid to boot. There's a bunch of us here that couldn't have accomplished what he did, regardless of the budget.
Congratulations on an outstanding opener! |
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Drew did a great job and has came a long way in my book, I remember watching him when he first came out in action and said woooo we need some work here and with the help of David Rampy doing some coaching work I don't have to list what all he has done in the last few years of SS/Stock racing. Once again, great job Drew did and if you meet him, one of the young nice guys of drag racing for sure.
Hey I almost had my first customer win in Pro Stock, lol |
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
#2 in the country in Stock Eliminator the last two years - money doesn't buy that.
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Great job Drew Skillman, how many times has that happened, not many I'm guessing ( runner up first Nat'l in prostock). Really enjoyed watching the race, and he does a good interview as well, very marketable. Good luck

Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Very impressive! Great job young man!
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Congratulations Drew! Way to represent Stock and SS racers as well as Div 3!
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Great job Drew. One helluva a first outing in Pro Stock. Good team, great driver looks like a contender right out of the box.
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Great job Drew. You represented Division 3 well and the Stock and Super Stock racers you raced with are for your success.
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
Way to go Drew. Happy for the Skillman camp. More success to come!

Joey Grose is a real good story too since they build their own engines but they did have Tommy Utt helping them too which is big. |
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
To Drew, Bill and especially Ray watching his Grandson do what every young and old Drag Racer dreams of CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Most of us dream of just getting to license one of these animals as I have. To master one in less than a month and achieve not only qualifying but progressing to the final WOW! To a GREAT Family and Friends to all racers, GO GET 'EM AT PHOENIX! Disregard what cudadoug says above as evidently they have not met the Skill in Skillman!
|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
I thought it interesting that both of the Pro Stock finalists came up from the Stock Eliminator ranks. Even the announcers were commenting on that. I think that says a lot for the caliber of drivers in Stock.

Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
I have another hero! Jim
. |
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!

|
Re: how about that Drew Skillman!
