Yes, another voice of good memories silenced. Those were great decades. We were lucky to live them. RIP LESLIE GORE

Re: RIP Leslie Gore
Yes, indeed - - RIP Leslie Gore. Truly one of the stars of that era. MANY of the songs from those years made you want to dance, be goofy or just plain have fun. I am truly lucky to have been a part of those times. I am 65 years young and still having fun - never grow up!!!

Re: RIP Leslie Gore
Sock Hops! Had to explain that now very lame term to my kids.
So "Now it's Judy's turn to cry". When you knew what the singer was singin' about. |
Re: RIP Leslie Gore
"You would cry too if it happened to you"

Re: RIP Leslie Gore
RIP
I have "LOCOMOTION" on my car because I liked the original song by Little Eva as well as the remake by Grand Funk railroad. I always thought it would be cool to look her up for an autograph & photo op, but figured it would be too difficult and/or awkward. After racing in Kinston, NC a few times, I was planning to attend another IHRA divisional there in 2003. A few months before the race, I heard that Little Eva had passed away.....in Kinston, NC! |

I was fortunate enough to meet and have this photo taken with Leslie after her performance near my Winter home in Palm Springs, CA in February of 2013.

Sorry to hear about Ms. Gore. Great singer. |
Re: RIP Leslie Gore
Another very sad deal, as her music was great. May she rest in peace.Just imagine, song lyrics you could understand, cars you wanted to buy, racing was fun, glad my wife and I got to experience the good times.John Kissel K242

Re: RIP Leslie Gore
I envy you guys that were coming of age, in those times... If it werent for the '50s-'70s music , i would go crazy. When i was a teenager, in the mid 80's, i would cruise around in my '60 Cat 2 dr post car, and listen to the Dusty Rhoads show, late on Saturday nights, on my AM radio with the antenna all the way up... best days of my life... RIP Leslie Gore...
