Hubert Platt

I'm publishing a book and would like to find the photographers for these two photos. Any help would be appreciated!

Can't help you with a photographer but I believe the bottom photo was after Hubert sold the Fairlane. Possibly Steve Bagwell who ran cars by that name.

Mine says Carl and Char Hirst Collection. Don't know if that is accurate?

Much thanks! I'll give that lead a chase. Maybe a watermark or signature will show up on a photo of the 69 car.

Re: Hubert Platt

Platt campaigned two 67 Fairlanes. These images are of the first car. After he parted ways with that car, he campaigned the car with the vinyl roof. Midway through the tenure with that car the vinyl roof was removed and he continued to run the car.

Whoa! Great shot. Any idea who the photographer was? Also, wasn't this car later converted to the 69 Drag Team car?

I'm not sure how much was changed to make it a 69. It still had the red interior and 68 rear marker lights.

Yes and I believe he won his class.

Re: Hubert Platt

The rumor surrounding this car is it was totaled in a hauling accident. Possibly in 1968. It would be interesting to know if it did survive into the 1970's.

Look at what the Ford Drag Team is wearing. Hubert has the same blue and white pants and jacket. It looks like Danny White is also in the photo of Jim Morton's Fairlane so that would have been 1969 or early 1970.

The first photo may have been taken by Marty Johnson. When Hubert Platt and Harold Dutton match raced he was the south east photographer both on the ford drag team with 67 fairlanes
