Great Places To Eat At The Races

We all know the chain restaurants. What would be great is a list of the local places with good food, value, and or a certain flair.

Crossing south Mississippi?

I-10 Exit 57. Go north about 500 ft.

"The Shed". Great bbq and an atmosphere like nothing else.

Was featured on "Diner's, Drive Ins and Dives".

Try Showmars when in Charlotte, on the left on 29, 5 miles south from the dragstrip:
115 McCullough Drive,Charlotte, NC 28262
My favorite is the fish sandwich combo, ask for extra tarter sauce and dip the fries in it. Yum!

Burnco in Tulsa, OK, the ribs will change your life, AND they bring out samples while you wait because the line is always out the door.

As I posted in the "South" thread. Leonardo's Pizza on University Blvd. in Gainesville right across the street from the downtown Holiday Inn. Best pizza and pasta plus great people watching! Been going there for 40 years. Jim

If you're ever at Ohio Valley in Louisville, Bonnie and Clyde's on Dixie Hwy. has the best Pizza I've ever eaten. Cooked in gas fired brick ovens. They make their own sausage. If you don't believe me ask Captain Jack.

I haven't been travelling in a while so I can't personally add anything. But when I was doing 10 to 15 races a year, the go-to tour guide was Dave Kommel. I think he got quite a bit of help from Paul LeSage, but regardless he always had the word on where to go. Maybe he's out there reading and will chime in.

It is a regional chain but we really liked O'Charley's

I think we ate there three times during Drag Week 2013.

When in Columbus at National Trail try Clay's cafe in Hebron. Turn left out of the track and go East for about two miles. They will also deliver to the gate!! Good food, reasonable price. Call in and it's close enough to get there, pick up your food and return in less than 20 min.
