Re: Jim Beattie
His son Skip told me yesterday, it's a very personal loss for me.
Jim was an innovator, a truly great friend, and a great business associate. I started selling his products over 30 years ago when I worked at Hobbs Transmission in Nashville. After I left there, Jim set me up as a dealer, and despite being a small business, Jim stuck with me this entire time, treating me like I was a big volume dealer. I got outstanding service, prices, and support, he always helped me and my customers, his check was always the first to arrive when one of us won, no matter how small the win. There are few like him in business, but his sons are just like him. God's speed, my friend, you will be missed, your family is like family to me, they will be in my thoughts and prayers. |

Re: Jim Beattie
A cool story about Jim i was testing my race car at Orange County Drag Strip I believe in the early 70's, . i broke my transmission and some one told me to call Jim . I did on a late Thursday night. he said no problem I will have one sent to you by Saturday morning . he did not know me from anyone sure enough on Saturday morning there was a brand new transmission at the airport . he did not even ask for any payment said call him after the races to pay . i will never forget that . He was a good man

Re: Jim Beattie
Very sorry to hear this. Also did a lot of testing at MIR with Jim back in the 70's . All of my customers used ATI stuff and I sold a lot of it. Funny thing was I always ran a 4 speed and he picked on me constantly about it but always invited me to test day anyway. Extremely smart man and always fun to talk to . I know this has left a big hole in the lives of his family and will be sorely missed. God Speed Jim
