Re: ATTN IN THE PITS - Baytown update
Here is what our director sent out:
pit parking will begin tomorrow(wed) at 2:00 PM and continue till 6:00 PM for competitors in Comp, SS, STK, SC, SG, SST, TD and TS. Competitors in these categories will need to proceed to the Gate 3 where they will be directed to a holding lot. Access to the holding lot will open tomorrow at 1:00 PM. Upon arrival, competitors will be issued a number based on the order in which they arrived. An NHRA Pit Control official will direct competitors from the holding lot to the facility for parking. Anyone arriving past 6:00 PM will be stacked in the holding lot at Gate 3 till pit parking resumes on Thursday at 8:00 AM. |
Re: ATTN IN THE PITS - Baytown update

Re: ATTN IN THE PITS - Baytown update
Stacked and waiting. From across the way we can see truckload after truckload of some sort of crushed rock material being broght in, spread and packing it. Hopefully the last minute effort will pay off for all of us. I'll try to post in a bit after i get in and see it up close.

Re: ATTN IN THE PITS - Baytown update
Spoke to the famous Redman, who is In The House in Houston. It's all pretty simple; if the dry weather holds, and about 80 or 100 gone, they will get it in. If the rain returns and is heavy, it will be a mess. Seems like if this effort was done 2 years ago or 20 years ago instead of 2 days ago this thread would not exist. That should sum it up. If those t-shirt trailers are out, and if the RV's at the end of the stands are gone, I need someone to post pictures. I can look at them while I am sitting in my swing at my fishing camp with a nice white wine with my lovely wife.

Made it to the track last night LATE. But also slept late. Big time overcast today. Pretty sure we will get wet today.
Got a bunch of new sand gravel and dirt spread everywhere and compacted down |
