T & D customer service,, or lack thereof,,
I hate to bash any company that supports our habit, but I'm having a bad experience with T & D and wonder if anyone else has had problems with them.
3 days ago, I call them up to place an order for some shaft rockers for my son's big block project. The gal on the other end, at T & D tells me she can't take an order, but to give her my name and number and they'll get back to me as soon as they can, so I comply and do just that. 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours go by and I decide to call back. I'm given the same story, and that they'll really try to get back asap. I don't hear from them that day. Next day I try again, same result, to which I voice some concern about their order taking process, and am told that the person who takes orders is not in. I tell her I thought it strange that only one person handles all these orders that they're being "flooded with" and that this person must be from Krypton! The lady chuckles and agrees that this person is very efficient and handles the load, and that I'm on the list to be called back. Day 2 passes also without a return call. Today, I try once more, bright and early PST which is what they prefer, and am told the same 'ol BS. I tell this gal its nothing personal,, but this is not the way the business world operates, putting willing and paying customers off and possibly sending them to look at other options. She said she was doing the best she could and again, I assured her it was nothing against her, just that a multi million dollar business should have more than one person taking orders. Sorry for being so long winded, but right now the Jesel system is looking pretty good, and I'm told they're only 2 weeks out, whereas T & D is a month out, something I wasn't told by the "voice on the other end" Thanks for letting me vent. Hang in there Danny. T&D is a great product they seem a little beefier than Jesel.
Maybe someone here can let Danny know how to get in touch with Super Stock racer Brad Rounds? He isn't a sales guy but he might be able to get the ball rolling for you. Danny maybe just call and ask for Brad??? |

I would go with Jesel. I have had real good luck with their products and when I need parts they ship them right away with no wait time on standard type rockers etc. I have been using their products for 25+ years with very little failure.

Just ordered hold down studs and nuts for SBC rockers as I broke a couple. She did say only 1 person was taking orders and to hold. About 1 minute later the gentleman came on phone and took my order and items came a day earlier then expected. First time ever dealing with them and it went well. Maybe it was a busy week when you tried to order. IDK

At the suggestion of Jimmy Bridges, I bought T&D for our stuff. Competition Products had them in stock for nearly every head, with a good price.

Thanks all for responding,, I finally did get a call back this afternoon from Brad, I'm hoping that's the same guy, Jody. We've got a conflict over correct part #s to iron out and so with a little more info on Monday we should be able to get things rolling.
Lee,, the person not there this week is Sheldon, we found out. Jeff and Mike, thanks for your input as well. Alan, I did talk to Butch this morning, may still get back to him. Jody! I'm having a blast watching the Spring Fling here at home,, a lot of familiar cars going rounds down there,, keep it going. I'm smelling a bucket list trip to Vegas in 2016 for me, I think. Brad and I got together today, and long story, short, the shaft rockers are on their way as are the cylinder heads, so in a few weeks we should have a new bullet to drop in my son's 69 Nova. Thanks to all who responded.

I have known Larry Torres for about a long time maybe 30 years or so And I can guarantee he and Brad are big time supporters of Super Stock racers. Larry used to be a Super Stock racer and knows the importance of taking care of a racer . I suspect even though on a occasion he red lighted he is always wanted to provide great service to his customers

You're right, Don. I've got pictures that I took of the Chevy II back around '76 when Larry brought it up here to the Fallnationals,, with A-1 all over the side of it. We couldn't believe how good it ran for a Powerglide car back in those days while we were all still banging on Muncies and Super T-10s! That car was an eye opener for sure.

Well,,, I'd be a little remiss if I didn't provide the closing chapter on this thread. While getting through may have been somewhat difficult,, once I got in, things really took off. I called in the order to Brad on Monday morning, and at 11 AM pacific time on this Thursday morning the rocker arms are in my hands! No two ways about it,, I consider that to be excellent customer service. Thanks to T&D for getting these out the door so quickly,, and to any "silent helpers" I may or may not have had.
