Herb, I don't think its right making accusations about other racers without proof. Until IHRA puts something on their website, it is all just hearsay. How would you feel if someone accused you on an open forum without any proof.

Posting something from 20 years ago would not be appropriate at this time.

I think we should wait and see what IHRA says, if anything.

I am not friends with him, and no need to copy and paste anything. If a 100 people said they new the reason, it still makes no difference. When IHRA tells why he was dq'd, then everyone can comment, until then it is just hearsay.

I'm sorry if you don't like it, but those are the rules and I ask you to respect them. I will not let members make accusations without proof, end of story. I know its easy to jump on a bandwagon, but you need to take a step back and ask yourself, what if it was me being accused without proof.

I ask members to wait and see what IHRA has to say, and then you can comment all you wish.

Its not Ken's responsibility to call anyone and ask them or to "friend" someone either. You simply asked him permission to post a video and he asked you not to and even offered an explanation, which I thought was more than reasonable. Ken doesn't need me or anyone else to speak for him, but you're being a little antagonistic here after not getting your way. Theres nothing wrong with backing off some, and letting this play out. You yourself stated he was on a bye, so you obviously weren't in the other lane to be immediately affected by the alledged action. You've gotten our interest now, so lets see how this developes. My 2 cents,, so flame me now.

Mickey, I sold all my stuff 3 years ago. Now I spend my time driving a flat bed and working on a '65 mustang and a '65 rambler american wagon. Also learning to master the fine art of accuracy with black powder muzzleloaders . 50 yds no problem,100 yds not so easy.

The discussion is important in order to keep the sanctioning body accountable. If the events at the track were widely known, and the sanctioning body does not make an announcement and/or act on it, then we have a much larger problem.

I agree 100% Michael, but in today's society what a person can say about someone else is a fine line. I received messages wondering why I was taking up for the individual when nothing could be further from the truth. I don't even know him, I was actually trying to stop some people from saying something they might regret later.
The rules of the forum are there to protect the forum as well as the individual that might make an accusation against someone else without definitive proof. Some of the things being said could cause someone much bigger problems other than being kicked off a message board.

Well its been a week, no reply at all from IHRA is this just going to be swept under the rug?
If, and I stress IF this was an electronics being found issue, and nothing is done other than a DQ, than I would say this was a cowardly act on IHRA's part not to hold said racer accountable and keep a fair and honest playing field for everyone. To me that type of infraction is the same intent as steeling from other competitors. either way, we should know why the DQ.

Not saying this is right but, tough for IHRA to suspend a guy that supports IHRA. They already have to deal with very low car counts at most events.

That's exactly what I was saying. Just because they don't announce something doesn't mean it didn't happen. Robert Staton was suspended indefinitely (http://www.ihra.com/competition/comp...t/category/200) many years ago. I was working for IHRA at the time and physically held his homemade delay device in my hand. If this was a similar incident and not dealt with in the same fashion, then it constitutes a MAJOR problem.

With proper rules enforcement, car counts go UP. They have been more proactive in the last year or two, and car counts have been going up. Piedmont, Richmond, and Farmington were all strong events.

If nothing is done they stand to lose more than just his one car. Many are waiting to see if action will be taken and if nothing happens credibility will be lost.

I was at the Rockingham Invitational about 20 years ago when NHRA found a delay box in his trunk if I remember correctly. That may have pre-dated the NHRA website or twitter..

This brings back some old memeories, I was right in front of lets just say ( Blank Blank ) on the scales at Rockingham when they were checking cars for a delay box and the tech offical yelled out we got it. The next round as I pulled up on the scales there it was in plain sight with a sign that read this delay box was found in ( Blank Blanks ) car. I was thinking how embarrassing this must be for him, then I thought F..K that cheating ****. This is theft and most of all its saying to your fellow racers screw you to. Racers found with a Delay box should be banned for life. The term ( Blank Blank ) racer is to protect the innocent.

The official that found the delay box was presented the violating delay box mounted on a plaque and he still has it!

I agree with Herb. The offender should be banned for LIFE from racing NHRA or IHRA.

I think there is all sorts of electrical frivolity going on. I'd love to see NHRA do more checking on this stuff. As for Mr. Blank, he should move over to Super Gas and run with the Pro Stock Trucks and call it a day.

Agree 100%. We all spend hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on our cars to make them faster, to make them more consistent, and practice to drive them better. In this situation if IHRA doesnt make a decision for a suspension or lifetime ban I for one will not support them anymore. I can't speak for my father and brothers but I'm sure they feel the same way. Jeff Longhany

I do not have a dog in this fight , BUT CHEATING IS CHEATING, the racer everyone is speaking of was caught last year for the same infraction, he should be banned from IHRA as well as NHRA just like some bracket racers were banned years ago for illegal MATTY boxes and this was at a local level, bottom line if you are wrong you are wrong! and to get caught less than a year later for the same thing is wrong for the IHRA to continue to let him race...He should be banned and stripped of all points and removed from the roster. To use the excuse should not be banned because of low car counts is stupid and the person who said that should be laughed out of town with him...If you are going to allow this why not do away with the rule book and make it A RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG ORGANIZATION......:eek:

I don't regret much that I might say, because I don't give a rats azz about the liberal/bleeding/tree-hugging society that we are becoming. Did you get a ice cream or a slice of pizza when you got beat/lost growing up??? CHANGE is upon us, not good!!!
