"Live" from Atlanta 2015
 

We are here and parked. We left home this morning about 6:15 and rolled in here about 3:30 this afternoon. We are all set up and ready for a great weekend of racing. I think there are only 48 cars entered for this race in stock and 42 or so in Super stock. We both run Class!


We enjoyed cocktails this afternoon with Alice and Joe Tysinger, Jim Marshall, Gene Jordan, and Willie. Then we had a good dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse with Willie, Wallace, Alice and Joe.


There are a few rigs stacked outside tonight. We begin parking and tech and 8 in the morning. Today was a bright sunny day. Right now the probability of rain is 40% for Friday, 20% for Sat. and 50% for Sunday. But that will change a bunch by that time, I'm sure!!

It is a gorgeous day here in Commerce, GA. Rigs are pulling in and parking and tech is going on! More later!

My son and I will be there at 8 AM to enjoy the festivities. Looking forward to meeting a lot of folks from ClassRacer.com. Especially anyone running Pontiacs. I will be sure to search out Larry Hill and thank him for his "Live from..." reports.

Well today has been a nice relaxing day! I cleaned up the motorhome and Larry waxed the racecar! Just been seeing folks we haven't seen in a while and getting caught up on all the gossip!!

We start out bright and early at 8:30 with qualifying # 1 of stock. We are supposed to get 2 runs, then class!

Well it is looking pretty good for racing today. Only 20% chance of a stray thunderstorm this afternoon . It is overcast now and 65 going up to 81 later in the day. They should be calling stock soon!

43 cars made the first run. Lots of 1000' runs. Jimmy Hidalgo did not have a good run. A couple of classes up wrong.

After the long cleanup in super gas, they have now eliminated the 3rd run for super gas, super comp, top dragster, and top sportsmen.

It has been a great day for racing all day!! We got beat in the finals of A/SA after Larry red-lighted. But the car has been running good and we are looking forward to hopefully going rounds tomorrow!! I still have not made any car pictures! Sorry but it was more fun to sit around and talk with our friends. Maybe tomorrow!


Oh for the racers from Bowling Green, Randall Campbell told me this afternoon that Jim Watson's mother died today. Our condolences to Jim and the rest of his family.

It is another beautiful day here at the track. We just finished up the first round of stock where we won!!! A few surprises first round with Cooter losing and also Michael Brand losing. But Michael ran Kevin Helms who is doing pretty well this year! More later!

Well we are packed up ready to head out back to Kentucky bright and early in the morning. Good luck especially to our Louisiana buddies who are still in==Kevin and Cooter!


We have enjoyed our trip south and even won a little money this time! It is always fun to see our old friends and make new ones. We will see you next weekend for the Sportsnationals in Bowling Green.

We stopped at a QT this morning to fill up in Jefferson, GA on our way home. We want to make sure that Paula Cotten's retirement stays funded! It was nice and clean, easy in and out, and good doughnuts! Also same price credit and cash! Get well soon Paula! We hope to see you at Indy!
