One can only hope.,.........

Now, if they'd replace him with Wesley Roberson, Travis Miller, Dave Ley, Bill Floyd, or Len Imbrogno..........,

He and the current regime have run the organization into the ground. The car count is way off both pro and sportsman. The purse money for the sportsman is a joke in comparison to the cost to compete. Contingency is at an all time low. I suspect spectator numbers are down. Membership is probably way off as well. We need someone to right the ship. Look at the car count this weekend at Mongomery. It would have liked to gone but I would loose money even if I won the event.

I think it's safe to say they ARE down. Remember the black tarps covering up the empty seats last year...at INDY, of all places!

The guys running the ahfs area should be fired too. If not fired the whole system needs to be shaken up to get the sportsman racers interested again. What we have now is bringing back street racing.

If it's true, it's because he did not grow the brand. A mortal sin in the business world.

Not sure.. we have all seen the front cover of Vanity Fair on the news with his cover shot, but heard the back page of the magazine had the back side shot... little bumpy! :)

Maybe like Compton... something to hide!

Well I'm glad you exposed it. I'm not the least bit surprised about it. If only most of the racers here knew what he is really like, I think many more would forsake their memberships until this cretin and his minions were shown the door.

I wonder how many millions that severance package is going to cost the membership?

Re: Big News Brewing In Glendora

From someone who has been around big corporations in management I can tell you once you get a boys club in place it is hard to change the mind set for operations.
A huge mind set change is what NHRA needs which will mean a change at the top and many of the underlings.
Without that nothing will change.
With NHRA I have no idea on how to facilitate that change without a owners/shareholders/members vote of some kind which will never be allowed under the current rules for the so called non profit.
Just My 2 Cents

Now I am on NHRA's black list.
Really I guess all the loyal member/racers really are.

James I've never knocked class racing itself. In fact, 95% of my negative stuff is targeted at NHRA, specifically at the leadership. I've stated in the past class racing and it's racers are in control of it's/their destiny. You also need to see things from where I stand I've grown up around the sport, lived it in SoCal, Florida, and your neck of the woods (yeah all my junk is parked for economic reasons and I'm not racing right now, but I'm not just a "keyboard" racer). I am pro IHRA, S/SS association, tracks, and for an NHRA "new management". I only throw rocks at broken glass as I do post positive stuff too...mainly responses, although I do post "congrats" threads and other class racing news worthy topics.

I don't believe in standing and taking abuse, but "be heard or be gone". I hope you can respect that going forward. And yes, you too have a right to your opinions.

I have read all the articles and I don't really think they are replacing Tom Compton. Evidently,he is away from his position due to Personal reasons and the NHRA isn't going to reveal the reasons. We can speculate all we want but I am going to sit back and enjoy the ride. LOL.. Tom, you and your family are in my prayers. M.J.
