What are you trying to build here?

working on a 69 chevelle 300 deluxe factory 307 powerglide would like to keep my compression ratio up there that's why im looking for the smaller bore .015 steel shim. keeping my options open at this point

I used the .015 Fel Pro gasket on my 307. It was a 4.060 bore gasket I think? Unless you can find some old 283 steel shim gaskets I don't believe you will have a big selection.

I have some 283 shim gaskets at dads shop. Will be glad to inventory gaskets over weekend. I know there at least 2-sets...maybe more.

You realize you are talking about 3 hundredths of a compression point, of course...

Your best bet is Cometic, they aren't gonna be cheap, probably 80-90 bucks per gasket but they make a small bore gasket and they also make .018" thick gaskets...they will basically make whatever you want...t

Great product but I don't believe I'd use them on a restoration project.
Too easy to spot, along the lower edge.

I believe you would be happy with some ole 633 GM gaskets, they are still out there ...you just need to do some searching. M.J.

Re: small bore sbc head gaskets

So I called SCE gaskets last week. they told me they are starting to make the small bore steel shim head gasket ( 3.950 ) .015 thick equal to the old gm 3995633 part # and should be ready at the end of July. I was also told for the AMC guys out there they also have in stock small bore steel shim head gaskets for the AMC engines as well. Just relaying what they told me.
