I have received my contingency paperwork from NHRA but no money for the eliminator yet. 2 weeks is ridiculous.

Boy NHRA Taking over the Contingency program and pocketing ALL the extra money sure is working. Besides they are gonna need alot more to cover Tom "Drunk as a Monkey" Compton's stay at the Betty Ford Clinic. Our member money at work for us!

Re: Fontana payments

The track will not pay purse $ without a W9 on file. They announced that thru out both weekends. Pay out checks come from Florida and typically take 2-3 weeks.

It's called cash management.... they use your money to make some
for themselves. Using a cash reserve system would enable NEXT
DAY payment if they were so inclined. Bob

It is not about cash flow - it is about stupid, ridiculous, inane business processes

I called - from drag strip to big track to Florida and finally to you

It is not a W9 issue for almost every one of us - we know about that excuse an avoid it

Just really poor customer treatment

Do you think they would wait on us to pay -- you know the answer is -- NO

No money yet either. That RU dough from Div race is badly needed as we are down to the last can of soup in cupboard. Keep getting contingency forms and congrats letter's though but the bank teller told me they were worthless.

I got a call from the track and she said they should go out from Florida on Thursday and be in our hands by Tuesday latest

I was not kind nor was I appreciative - but I know she is not the correct person to speak too.

BTW - just who is .. JEGS - Mike Rice - NHRA - or perhaps this site - that really gets the attention of the correct people - LMFAO

I consider this a public service announcement

But some may choose to "rank"

No payment from the track yet. I may have to take out one of them title loans on the superstocker. Ron . can you share the number?

Ken Etter 06-25-2015 11:34 AM

Re: Fontana payments

Pretty sad when the race winner doesn't get paid! I wanted to order some parts from Jegs for my car but didn't because I haven't been paid from a race that they are the title sponsors of. I wonder if they can go ahead and ship them and I will pay when the track pays me! lol

Re: Fontana payments

I tried to contact Graham Light today - he is out for several days.
I was referred to Mike Rice.
Called him - we talked.
I was wrong - the checks did not go out from Florida - they were sent back to Fontana to be mailed a week later than expected.
Mike was assured they went out last Thursday - not likely.
What a bunch of BS.
Mike said he was going to talk to them about the "corporate delays".
Next year it will be different - LMFAO.
Still no check today.
Tomorrow I will call Shirley Carter at JEGS - maybe they will care.

One of the pros in Div. 2 got their check from Englishtown on 6/15.

Re: Fontana payments

I left a message on the track answering machine this morning (not the event announcement line).

I called JEGS and left a lengthy message for Shirley Carter.

I then called back and spoke with Matt for quite some time - he seemed genuinely concerned and was surprised by the treatment the racers are getting from Fontana Drag Strip (Bill France/NASCAR). He assured me he would escalate to the proper people.

We closed by me saying - of course - the checks will probably arrive today - he said - so what it took to long.

6/26/15....

Still no mailbox money from the SportsNational.

In the past I've had experience with NHRA paying in a decent amount of time following National events.

I did get a W9 request from VP today. I guess that's a start?

Good .. we also have had contingency sponsor contact but what we are talking about here is track winnings

Unbelievable - absolutely no excuse - it should be embarrassing to the track

those dang Bill France's are causing troubles from the grave. Senior has been dead for 23 years and Junior has been dead for 8. Now Brian has an ex-wife who wishes he was dead.

Very alert and very good catch but it does not change anything thing - I should have said the France family and left out the word "bill" - no comment on the real issue?

I am glad some of what I said is OK - at least so far

I'd like to see this race moved back to Vegas. Nicer track, better facilities and THEY pay their bills on the spot. All of the other races payed at the track or within a few days. Makes a guy wonder if he wants to go back to Fontana. Not that $1500 is going to break me,but I need it more than they do.
BTW thanks for your effort Ron.

Thanks Mike - unfortunately we run very close to the vest - it does make a difference - Tracy know this sucks.

I have already asked Mike, JEGS and NHRA to see about moving it.

Re: Fontana payments

OK - progress?

Tracy called me this morning at 8a to respond to the message I left yesterday. I like Tracy - he is a good guy - he will call Florida tomorrow.(not sure why?)

The phone was breaking up so I did not get exactly what his response to my question of "I heard the checks got sent back to Fontana - did that happen?" even after I repeated my question.

Damn cell phones... perhaps the "the checks were sent back to Fontana" is miss information .. seemed unlikely since he mentioned them having correct addresses in Florida.

I assured him I was not the only one - Kayla, Ken, Mike and I are not alone in this - no one has received the track winnings money.

He seemed to agree that it should not take this long.

I do know I will get an update tomorrow morning.

Ron

Re: Fontana payments

Alright - maybe some closure - sort of

Tracy called me this morning to let me know he had called Daytona to see what was going on - they are going to call him back.

Mean while - Mike Rice sent me the following text

"Update on Sportsnats check. I was informed today that there was an issue in Daytona regarding the checks for this event. They are being cut today and are to arrive in Fontana by Wednesday to be mailed out"

So likely early next week with the holiday and all.

Best I could do.
