Doug,,, that's pretty clueless alright, but you're not alone. Looks like a pretty good field assembled for this weekend. Good luck to you and enjoy the ride.

Hope and pray you are doing well. Plan on winning but
others have the same plans. Weather is rainy and cool this evening. Sunny and mid seventies forecast for tomorrow. Tech was performed at our/others trailers. Scheduled for three time trials tomorrow. Class on Friday. I will most likely be in the auto combination group (FSS/B).
Take care. Keep us posted on your status

I'd like say thanks for all of the stock and super/stock racers from near and far that made it to Brainerd this year. Also a special tip of the hat to class racers that had their NHRA numbers visible from the bleachers, the super classes were very hard to see.

Re: Live From Brainerd

Schedule change due to weather concerns resulted in running stock and super stock class today. Rain on Saturday of concern. Lost class against
Hopkins FSS/B. Tomorrow calls for one time trial followed by first round.
Have my reaction time adjustments narrowed down...almost.
Fun Day

Doug, thanks for the update. Hopefully the weather will not be as bad as anticipated. So will the ladders be set from today's qualifying or will tomorrow count, or just a time trial for all. Just curious, have 2 friends there racing. Brian Seaburg from Belfair, Wa. and Brian Thompson from Federal Way, Wa.

Brian Seaburg is getting things figured out with his U/SA Comet. Qualified up from #40 to #36 to #3. Not much to look at, but always tough to beat.

Congrats to Brian Seaburg for winning class yesterday! I see the other U/SA car, driven by Skip Lisell is atop the qualifying list,,, anybody know what combo he is running? I can't imagine theres too many 302-Comet/Maverick racecars out there running around. I know of one that stayed home this weekend to run the divisional here.

A Caddy and a Comet. Must have been some drag race!

I remember a run between two VW Beetles at Milan in the 60s. They were bumper to bumper for so long that the crowd and tower were able to make jokes, pick sides and cheer the winner during the run.

Well,, since they both run off the same index,, it was a heads up start. Brian treed his opponent badly, and the Caddy didn't have enough to reel him in. If they run into each other again (perhaps Indy), you can bet both drivers,, as all drivers should, will bring their "A" game! I'm hoping that Brian & Brian stay back there to take in the US Nationals. Good luck to Mr. Seaburg and Mr. Thompson on their "eastern swing".

The guys from Washington are Way Cool! 73 Comet!? Old Mustang! Open trailers. Half way across country. Don't know how they ended their day. Sounds like the Comet did well. I broke out against Terry Johnson. His .009 light vs my .033 forced me to run under by more than I should have...Broke out by .035. Things happen fast at 155 MPH! Jason Line runs his Dad, Larwence Line tomorrow in 2nd round of class...In stock eliminator!

A father son matchup in round two, Lawrence and Jason Line. I always want Jason to win, but this time not so much. Come on Lawrence!

Got your wish Larry! First time I ever met Mr. Line I was with Tim Rix at Earlville and looking for Lance for a friend many years ago. I walk up and ask about Lance and he says "he stepped away", hands me a hamburger off the grill and "have a seat." Bet they had a great time before and during the race.

Re: Live From Brainerd

Brainerd update from the 2 Brians:

Seaburg bit it in the 3rd rd in a close race with Randy Lyn Shipp. Both ran their numbers close in a hellish head wind/difference was .01 on the light. But Brian left with a class Wally so he has a extra passenger on the ride home.
I didn't have enough power in these Midwest conditions to pick a spot on the ladder and like Seattle I got matched up second rd with a heads up. My opponent was Bill Rink who has one of the fastest SS/MA's in the country. Oops...that's why this isn't bracket racing!

Having fun, seeing old friends making new ones and racing . Does it get any better?

Bracket finals in Boise next!

Re: Live From Brainerd

Tough break getting in a headsup against Bill. Very fast car and a good racer to boot. Give Brian a big high five from me on winning class. In looking at the numbers I guess the Caddy thought he had Brian covered, or something - .460 light WOW.

Did you guys pit next to a new Challenger S/G car?? I thought I saw the Comet in the background when they showed the S/G car.

I hope the weather is not as bad as predicted before you guys can get out of there. Have a safe trip home and good luck at the Bracket Finals in Boise. Are you guys still hitting another race before the finals?? I can't remember the conversations with you two, brain fade I guess.

As of last night Steven Horton is number 1 at Seattle at the Divisional. Probably won't change with it being warmer today than yesterday. Haven't seen the latest stats, so not sure.

Thank you. I thought I saw the Comet during the qualifying show, but looked closer during the Sunday show. Definitely the Comet with Brian's Mustang convertible behind it.

Not only are the cars cool, but Brian Thompson's trailer is very unique. A 2 car open trailer with enough room for his golf cart also.
