Cool stuff

Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
Shame on Roy here is with a school on how to drive and not smart enough to have wheelie bars on his cars? Shame on Ford and Chevy for building and sell there's cars without WHEELIE BARS!

I don't know about y'all, but I just swallowed my gum.

Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
So the car went left the first pass and he probably swapped tires because of the push then next round the car goes right--- either the tires are mismatched (different roll out) making the car go to the left or the right depending on which side the larger tire is on or air inflation pressure differential or it's the track -- notice both runs are in the right lane !!!! did either the car before or after his run have difficulty in the RIGHT lane???--- FED 387

Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
FED
Think those passes are actually Q1 and Q3. Think Q2 Roy went 9.20 about .78 under. |
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
OK so which lane was he in for #2 and what did the car do then??? watch the film again watch the left rear of the car watch how it acts when it is up in the air seems to me that it "twitches" or something??? towards the end of the wheel stand just before it comes down rear end tweaked to one side or a broken out of adjustment whatever suspension component??? Or is he staging the car cocked to one direction??? anyway he is dangerous to be running along side of til he gets the problem fixed-- FED 387

Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
look at post #1 and watch the film around the 18-25 second point--- you 'll see what I mean
|
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
The car got up on the rear valance, which steered the car.

Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
Makes sense to me!!!
|
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
Sure am glad ole Roy operates a driving school. A novice driver might have gotten Marty Buth Injured or worse ?? ...M.J.
|
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
Roy can't stay in his own lane so another racer has to abort a time run...at INDY!
And all because Roy doesn't have wheelie bars? Maybe he made some highlight reel. But, he did it at another racer's espense. |
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
Wheelie bars or a "Belly Bar" ???

The debate for or against sissy sticks I mean wheelie bars is a long one. |
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
RJ Sledge are you saying Roy got his Belly hung in the steering wheel?
How do you know? Is that something you have experience with? Are "Belly Bars" a Ford only Shelby approved option? |
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
All it took was "once"! I now have "tilt steering" and the good Lord blessed me with long arms!!
Call me later about EMC RJ |
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
I heard many racers around the starting lanes saying he should be banned from driving until he either puts wheelie bars on the car or quits showboating.
|
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
This has to be by far the funniest racing video I've ever seen! Kudos to the producer! Just wanted to share that I heard from the stock pits that Good Ole Roy had a Super Stock engine in that car! LOL. Wouldn't surprise me, especially since he chose to sit out the rest of the event in that car.

Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
I'm really at a loss to see why anyone would think what Roy did was cool! To me those runs show a lack of common sense and makes for a very dangerous situation for both drivers. Shame on NHRA for letting him make three passes knowing the potential danger that cars setup presented. I'm sure that isn't the first time the car has done that and Roy felt he would be a hit at Indy letting it get so far out of control. Some people have more money than sense. Jim

I don't know that NHRA is to blame for it. Roy, of all people, should know your right foot can stop the ride at any time. Oh, and a good pair of struts and some travel limiters would help too! |
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
Who cares..............
|
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
The guy in the other lane
|
Re: VIDEO: Roy Hill…Dukes of Hazzard Style
Anybody with a wheelstand prone car will tell you he needs more than wheelie bars on that thing. He needs to call Stanuff, they can sell him struts to fix that. That thing will unload so hard, if adding wheelie bars is all that is done, he is going to probably kill some sprags. Been there, done that.
And, yes, the guy in the other lane cares. |

The issue I had with him was his attitude. Although he apologized to the other racer on his first run, he came over to the starting line acting like it was not a big deal and humorous what took place. |
