Do you think they will offer these as a NA motor instead of the blower? I have a 2012 blower version but would like to go to a NA setup. Any inside news Mr. Kersaw?

These pictures remind me of looking through old black and white photo's of the 68 CJ's in an old hotrod magazines. In 50 years kids will be drooling over these pic's thinking, "man it must of been cool back in the day" like we do about the 60's now! LOL!

My non drag racing friends often asked why these cars were so fast. After seeing this rear suspension work on the FS cars at Joliet this summer they asked how they were ever allowed into the stock classes:-)

The roll cages in these cars are hideous. All they need is a 25.3 spec roll cage. The extra bar at the A pillar and the diagonal bar with road racing style bracing is totally unnecessary.

If you're scared call the law. But seriously I am much more concerned about one of these 150+ mph rockets hitting a car that, by rule, is not required to have ANY rollbar or cage and can run 20, 30 even 40 year old lap belts bolted thru possibly rusted floor boards. Now that is a concern, too many bars in the cobra jets doesn't worry me at all. Glad I dont have to crawl in and out of that mess.

I guess the local chassis shop here is doing something right because I've seen numerous CJs in there getting the "factory" built cages cut out and replace with 25.3 cert cages.

The 16 Cobra Jet should be force to be reckoned with in the factory showdown. With a smaller pulley, larger valves, more lift and larger throttle body(not to mention the 4link) compared to the 13/14. Should be good to find that pesky red COPO of Arnetts that is crazy fast and packs a lot of HP.

565hp it will be packing some pounds compared to the 13 and 14 cars in regular competition. Of course I just focus on the stick cars lol at 500hp/525hp for the 13/14. (560 for the SS only pulley)

Isn't that to run below 8.5's? I have seen bone stock 14's run below 8.5's, maybe not at legal Factory Stock weight, but, still. Also, the cage was designed with a lot of FEA and simulation. May not look as sexy as some want, but, probably reasonably stiff and safe.

I saw an article yesterday with the headline: " 2016 Cobra Jet runs low 8's "

However, the article failed to state exactly what time it ran.

I cannot help but think that the Ford engineers are thinking about that first magical 7.99 pass in Stock Eliminator.

I thought they ran a C4, what tranny is that? What trans do the stick cars get?

Saw that blue one at SEMA, didn't get to see underneath but it looks like now the Fords will get to have rear suspension to match the bogus Dodge and Chevy.

The 2016 comes with a C400 = Ford bolt pattern bellhousing on a TH400 size trans case.
