Racers And Or Crew Being Rude To Other Racers

Let me start by saying everyone needs to come to Vegas to race, its a large time.

Now to the meat of the post. If you have a pet: pickup and cleanup after it. In my opinion if you can't pickup after your pet stay at home.

We have two dogs ,one cat and six or more squirrels that drive the cat and dogs crazy. Gosh they are fun to watch. We hit the brakes so as not to kill rabbits, possums, skunks, turkeys, deer and the rest of the animal kingdom. I love the taste of a lot of animals when cooked to perfection.

Someone has been letting their pet poop in everyone else's pits without cleaning it up. That is just plain rude!!!!

Also by NHRA regulations, you are required to have an exhaust pipe up if you are running your generator. Evidently Division 7 is not enforcing this rule! That is also rude and could be deadly!

Come on people, do what is right!

By the way, if that dog gets caught in our pits again, it won't be pretty!!

Larry, it sounds like some people need to put an exhaust pipe on their pets :)

Larry, that reminds me of a couple of years ago, Donna and I always raced with our 3 really small dogs. While in Vegas, we went to Lowes or HD and bought 4 rolls of sod and a bush for the middle. It worked perfectly. Since then, we lost "Chester" and replaced him with a wonderful Great Dane. I will need 10 rolls of sod for her...lol. But for sure she won't irritate the neighborhood,

The waist oil station at the end of the track looks like a mine field. You got to watch where you step.

I guess if no one is watching its ok not to clean up.

This is something that has long been needed to bring up! As a lot of you know I have a rather large "Race Dog" Tonka. He was a gift to me from some wonderful racers as a surprise after losing my first "Race Dog" Hershey. I never travel without doggie poop bags and usually have one on me at all times. It is my job as a dog owner to take care of any mess Tonka makes! I get very irritated at dog owners who find it too much of a chore to pick up after their dogs! If this is the case, leave the dog at home! There is nothing more frustrating than trying to clean dog poo off of your fire retardant shoes!! Jim

Nope, no open RV or fixed generator exhaust around my little space at the races.

At the fall NASCAR race Danika Patrick was photographed numerous times by local late model racers walking her dogs and letting them do there business and just walk away.. One of the crew confronted her about the random bombs left behind.. She said you dont like it, clean it up yourself.

i know this is a sensitive subject, and I know it does not matter, but I have to ask. Is the generator in the motor home, or is it a stand alone generators like the little honda 2000 eu that is sitting on the ground by itself. Just curious. I go to the national event sometimes and I see the NHRA credintals trailer with a generator running next to it, and it does not have a exhaust pipe. I try to have a exhaust pipe on my stand alone generator, but depends on where I am at and how much I run it, I do not run my generator all the time when I am at the track. Only when I need to. Just want your short answer Steve williams Division 3 S/g

The small generators that are not attached or mounted in an RV or trailer are not required to have a stack. It does not matter if a mounted generator runs for 5 seconds or 24 hours it has to have a stack. We are talking about a rule that helps to protect fellow racers from serious injury.

While we are on this subject, how about when you pit next to someone that has the latest and greatest sound system and plays it till the wee hours of the am. Seems like most of these guys and gals always show at the Bowling Green pts. meet.

Well I did not know that a generator that was not in a rv or trailer was not required a exhaust pipe. Seems like I don't understand why.

Not sure how you would route an exhaust up and overhead on a portable generator? Nothing to hold it secure. Jim

You could clamp or tie the verticals ex pipe to side of the trailer.

Or, Div 4. Don't want to park next to some of these guys. Not many, but a couple.

Re: Racers And Or Crew Being Rude To Other Racers

Rude people are everywhere. I encounter dog poop, all the time on my daily walks, on the sidewalks, lawns. I love animals, take my dog racing, and always have poop bags!

There was a racer, with a medical situation, who couldn't handle the heat. We got stuck next to him at Pomona a few years back. His generator ran all night long, no exhaust, next to my parents' bedroom window. I talked to him the next morning and was dismayed at his attitude towards others discomfort.

And the guys with the late night parties in their pits? Stock is out first, I'm up early, and make a lot of noise! Payback!

This is the way it should be done for portable generators!

You pull your awning out, put your carpet down, you set up your chairs ,you get your grill out, you get comfortable, then the guy pulls up next to you opens up a3x3 door an rolls out a1cly.10hp.gas gen.Are you kidding me. I carry a spare power cord and politely tell him he needs to use my generator.

And racers that just throw their empty beer cans all over the place just irk me. Especially when the guys and gals doing it are parked next to me and don't offer me any. Maybe we should get an Aluminite into the pits.

"Rude Racers?" After the way some of you have treated me for NO good reason I find this rant about rude racers as the epitome of irony. Too many people are skunks and you'll do little about it. Whine on. Or, live life and enjoy the irony.

More irony: For you to believe anything written on the worlds new "bathroom wall," shows a distinct weakness in your thought process. Not a single one of those boobs has a fact. No, they're just like Fox News, blabbing innuendo's til the cows come home. No examples. Just accusations. Like old man Biondo did to me right here on this sight. To be clear, none of that internet immaturity has any affect on me or my career. The hundreds of people who know better is all I need to make it easy to sweep the nonsense away and get on with……the irony. You're going to piss your pants at my next 1/4 mile attempt. It'll be more fun than ten Charlie Westcotts in a barrel. Haters will hate. My friends and I will enjoy!

Bruce, a wise old man told me years ago, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it is a duck. I will give you the benefit of the doubt on your business dealings but ....I just don't think that all these accusations can be made up. If you would have paid the balance on your purchase of the Hatari car, Mr. Sam Biondo would have never commented on this issue. I needed some laughs tonight so I googled your name just for old times sake. I must admit that the U tube video of you playing guitar surprised me. You handle that guitar very well . Good job. Regards, M.J.

That's funny right there, don't care who you are. On topic, irresponsible dog owners and inconsiderate neighbors in the pits should be called out by name, perhaps payback is in order and for the passive at least they will know who NOT to park next to.

Re: Racers And Or Crew Being Rude To Other Racers

One of my pet peeves is the guy that rolls his construction generator over to my side of his rig and fires it up. I usually just offer them to connect to my generator so I don't have to fight about it. If they don't take me up then I shut theirs down. I usually take a look at the type of rig I am parking next to. Most people with a motor home will use the house generator and a stack. Pick ups towing a small trailer are more likely to have a construction type genny. I stay at the track at the events

Several years ago, we were pitted in the north forty at the Mile High Nationals in Denver (up by the Wyoming state line). One of the diesel generators from one of the pro's coaches wasn't running right and the fumes were horrendous, couldn't even have our camper windows open and about made us sick. I wish I would have had some dog crap that night!

I had a 8500 watt generator in my gooseneck. I didn't even like hearing it. Pretty much gave it away and bought a 2000 watt invertor. Can't hardly hear it run. I don't want to piss off anybody. I might need a beer some day.

Generators running all night are my biggest beef.
I am running off an open trailer and out of the back of a pickup truck.
That means I sleep in a tent, when the track is too far away for me to go home for the night.
I cannot believe the attitude people had when I asked them to please turn off their generator at 2:00 AM.

MJ - That's a 100% total LIE. And because some punk wanted to write on the bathroom wall YOU decide to, "oh well. must be true." How sad for you. Tell me, what man in our drag race world would send the title to a buyer if the car wasn't paid for? Want to see the title? Or do you want to be another hater agreeing with lies that you have NO other proof of. WHEN IT WAS PAID FOR HE SENT ME THE TITLE.

Too many people in this world are extremely small minded.

WTF is wrong with you people that it's more important to try and tear someone down, without any provocation, instead of #1, minding your own business, #2 if you must stick your nose in, why not try to find out the truth. You saw the video. Out of his own mouth Phil said there was NO problem with me or the car. That means there's simply HATEFUL non christian immature mutts out there thinking that lying about someone is "fun."

Oh, drag racing. What a FAMILY. We ALL help each other. We're all friends. Well aint that a load of broken crankshafts.

Down here in the south most everyone runs theirs all night, something is just not real comfortable about sleeping when 75 degrees and 80% humidity.

P.S. I have never ever used Bruce for engine work. He could be fabulous. Best way to fight Internet slander is to show up in person and race. Not to self promote to death on line. On the other hand, there is an old saying." 10,000 flies can't be wrong..."

Everybody I know runs their motor home generator & AC pretty much 24 hours. Too hot not to. Never seen anybody sleep in a tent, in the back of a pick up either. I feel sorry for anybody having to do that. Can't imagine someone wanting people to shut their AC off (2:00 am, or whenever) and sweat, just because you don't have it better.

People's slide outs hanging over my side of the line don't bother me either. Still have room to get my race car in and out, walk around it, etc. maybe we should spend less time looking for something to offend us. Try to have a good time.
