E3 spark plugs
I see that Force is going to "supposedly" be running E3 plugs in all of his cars next year---has anyone had any experience using them ???? FED 387

Re: E3 spark plugs
If you get a chance to dyno test those, please let us know what you find. :-)

Re: E3 spark plugs
Force runs stuff (or promotes stuff ) that includes $$$$, what works with nitro may not work in stock, or super stock.

Re: E3 spark plugs
Probably hand made "SPECIAL" plugs that are a copy of Champion/NGK etc that nobody else in the world can get---Don'tcha think???

Re: E3 spark plugs
You mean like when Jim Yates had the "Splitfire" deal and reportedly still had Champions in his engines?
|
Re: E3 spark plugs
He also got banned for a year but thrush mufflers came to his rescue--Yates that is

Re: E3 spark plugs
We ran splitfires they worked my neighbor invented them actually made for splitfire by autolite

Re: E3 spark plugs
The multiple arcs are great for super and turbo charged engines running heavy fuel loads.

Re: E3 spark plugs
Don't know how these plugs work in an automobile engine, but I could only get an E3 for my 11 HP snow blower and what an improvement! The engine with a normal plug always seemed to be lean and was a little lazy starting. With the E3 the engine runs unbelievably good and starts faster. There are numerous internet comments supporting the improvement for 4 cycle engines like those on snow blowers, lawn mowers, etc. Just my 2 cents!

Re: E3 spark plugs
My car is just a bracket car but I have been using the same E3 plugs for 3 years and they still look like new. About 250 passes so far. The car starts easy even when the battery's are low. I like them. I will run them in my stocker when its done.

Re: E3 spark plugs
Run E3s, in all my street cars. Gas economy and power both improved, love them. Haven't used them in a race engine yet. Only concern about using them in a race engine is haven't seen a wide range of heat ranges.

Re: E3 spark plugs
Dosent electricity follow the path of least resistance,so once a path is set, whats is the difference, will it jump or arc differently

Re: E3 spark plugs
Wouldn't the OEM's use them if they provided better MPG, and I would guess that they would burn cleaner also?

Re: E3 spark plugs
It all boils down to cost. Couple million plugs adds to the price of each car. Little here little there you start talking big money overall

Re: E3 spark plugs
Look at aircraft plugs. This is nothing new. IMO it is just good marketing in the automotive world, even though there are some engines that come OE with them.....Probably to help meet 100,000 mile EPA and closed hood mandates.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Champion-A...NVXkMd&vxp=mtr Both the turbo charged 360 lycoming in my Commander and the N/A 300 Continental in my 172 use double ground strap plugs. Safety factor as much as anything. They are produced by AC, Champion, and Autolite and now Tempest offers them for aircraft. OH, they are also offered in a Fine Wire iridum electrode. |
