Entry into the Gators
 

Obviously I just got here. I am in the race in SS, but I can't get in in Stock. According to NHRA I have combined 8 grade points and I can't get in in Stock. I got in SS last night, and NHRA says I have 3 in the category (Stock I guess). I am missing something here. I think I went to 24 or 17 races last year. Somebody help me here. Those Florida people need to see me.

Jeff, you have to be like Kevin. He has no trouble getting in. You could let Sammy drive it but he don't like dodges.

The way I understand it, the grade point level entries were at when you entered the first category uses up your grade points. Example, if it is at a Grade 5 entry when you entered SS, you would only have 3 usable grade points left.

That is correct. Keep in mind, you only get grade points for divisionals, Nationals don't count

OK, so I withdrew in SS and entered in Stock today the 7th. Used 4 grade points, now I can't get in SS. I have 8. Even with 'new math' 4 and 4 are 8. Maybe I'm just too old. Plenty room in SS, so the emergency is over. Thanks guys, and all you with the Snerdley Whiplash remarks, thanks to you too. Just gotta see if yall are watching.

Does this mean that if you have 4 grade points and enter a national event that required 4 points to enter, all your points are gone?

Terry, I think it might be like letting your motor cool off after making a run. I am going to try again when it gets to 110 Degrees. Jennifer might be the way to go.

Yes, but only for that event. You will have 4 grade points to 'use' for entering each event.

I believe once you withdraw from a class you can not re-enter.

Mr Jeff, my comment wasn't meant in an ill way, simply I was simply surprised, with as much as you and your guys have raced, div and nat'l events, that you were having the difficulty. I hope it wasn't taken that way.

Unless it has changed, that is not true. I have entered an event using combined points for a class to then realize I couldn't enter the other class. Withdraw out of the first class, enter the second class and then re enter the first class.

A change was made a couple of years ago, if they still abide by it, who knows?

That is for provisional entrants,..so they can't hold spots for their buddies.
However, regular entrants with a big g.p. total could do that .
Of course they couldn't re-enter after full quota.

Jennifer fixed it. Thank you. Kenny, I don't take too much serious. Don't worry about it. Remember I am an experienced used car dealer. Now onto more serious things such as no rules for the shootout yet, no schedule for the shootout yet, and minor things like that. Now onto much more serious things. 400 Ladies in the Krewe of Aphrodite will be here about 6. There are beverages to certify before then. Now would be a good time to start. Thanks everyone.
