Live from Bradenton

We made the 150 or so mile trip from Immokalee to Bradenton yesterday with out a hitch. Were parked down by the ET shack and camp is set up for the weekend. There's a good amount of cars here and the weather is looking good with a high in the 70s sorry guys up north. We start with tech opening at 8:00 and time runs at 9:00 the run order is the normal HR, ST, QR, TS, SR, TD, SS, & JRD. Photos to come later.

Robbie,

Don't come back North without some warm weather.....lol. Supposed to only reach 16 degrees here in NJ on Sunday. Good Luck down there, hope to see you at a few races this year.

Re: Live from Bradenton

Rob that's the plan, watching the weather channel this morning if we wait on the temp we'll be back in May. Well yesterdays race went off pretty smoothly finishing around 8:30 or so. Sorry I don't know the winners of any classes. I was busy replacing the fuel pump on the Fairlane. It decided to lock up in the staging lanes before the 2nd round. My buddy Craig came to the rescue hitting it just right to get it going. But it thru me off my game and after a nice starting line advantage I screwed up the finish line. That's the great thing about double races I get another chance today. Yall try and stay warm back home. See you at some of the Mid Atlantic.90 races. http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psnqs7y3ed.jpghttp://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psz3hfaq3w.jpghttp://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...pslzmvisck.jpg

Sorry for the lack of reporting, had a little trouble Sat and had to replace the fuel PP on the Failane all is good now. I lost in the 2nd round Sun,both of us where slack on the tree but I was slow. Were going to stay at the track and I plan on racing this weekend in there bracket program. Maybe it will help my finish line driving? Brian & Tina had to get back to the real world and made it home safely. We had a great time with them. Here are a few photos from the weekendhttp://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psjbt1fycy.jpghttp://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psbidwys0u.jpg

Thanks for the reports Robbie, really appreciated. I got to watch some yesterday and saw some awesome racing. I'm hoping to make SGMP but with this weather work is screwing me up. Maybe I can get out of here sometime......

We took the motorcycle ride with Sterling down to Venice to visit Wade and had a great time. We took the long route going inland to Arcadia to eat at Slims BBQ and it was worth the trip. Wade gave us the grand tour of Venice to see the sights, the Gulf coast is beautiful

We took a ride yesterday to see our good friends Doug and Eva and had a great time. They gave us the grand tour of there RV community and its very nice. All the homes are built around RV's, you can get anything from a pad site to a mansion. There's also a good number of racers living there and a lot of car guy's very cool place to live.
Our friends Doug & Eva with Teresa and me. I think I got a bit to much sun.

Well we're still here at Bradenton Motorsport park. Rudy and I ran the bracket race Saturday I went out 2nd round Rudy made it down to 5 cars, we sure where pulling for him to win. We're planning on heading to SGMP Thursday or Friday (trying to stay as far south as long as possible). Here are some photos from the race Sat and some random photos. Lets have a little contest. First person to tell me the original owner of this car will get and adult beverage next time you see me.http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8hmdnffr.jpg

And the winner of the who's car was it is Bill Bricker (He called me). I knew that Norman Hall owned it but Bill had the history on the car. Also he owned it at one time (anybody that knows Bill won't find that hard to believe). It's neat to see cars from the pass that haven't changed. The next game maybe how many and what cars have Bill & Barbra Bricker owned. Bill & Barb you aren't eligible.

Re: Live from Bradenton

That Malibu now belongs to "Pepperoni Tony" Scharrino, one of the nicest guys you will find and the car is definitely a neat car. From what Tony told me the car was originally a SS/GT car and pointed out the tricks used when the chassis was built.

Tony offered to sell the car to me about 18 years ago when he had hurt the motor in it and was just aggravated with it all. I passed on buying it because I had just bought the stuff to build the Malibu that I have. I've kicked myself a thousand times over for not buying it. Glad to see he's still racing it.

Heck Robbie Bill can't even answer that question, he suffers from CRS disease. LOL. But heck I'll give it a shot . Let's see he changed his underwater once a month and he bought a new car every time so around 240 cars over 30 years or so. LOL. Ok maybe not that many but a hell of a lot. Maybe 240 including trailers and motor homes. Luv ya Bill Bill :l

Joe thanks for the response, are you going to race at the Gainesville Div race? The Malibu was a local car for us years ago, Norman Hall built it and like all of Normans cars it was top quality and beautiful. Cal your probably right about Bill not being able to remember all the cars he had. Bill, how many and can you name them all?
