Sportsman on Fox
 

Lewis Bloom just tweeted out that Fox will now start showing the sportsman finals whenever possible on the live Pro show. Kuddos to Fox, and especially to Lewis Bloom, aka, The Stat Guy. We finally have someone in a position of real influence that has an appreciation and understanding of Sportsman racing, and moreover, what the NHRA fan and viewing public really wants to see. Its not all about nitro!!!

Good News, Indeed!!

It also looks like Fox is re-broadcasting the Sunday shows a few times (at NORMAL hours) during the week as well. That's a very good idea!!

Now if only we can get the Fox Sports version of Sports Center to start showing the final round results (or even speak about them), on their highlight show like they do NASCAR, and other sports that are normally highlighted on their sports news shows.

I was so hoping that was going to happen last Sunday. I could see the front fender of Don's car, while Pro Stock was up. Then they went to commercial and I had to run back to the computer and listen to the audiocast! lol

Dan, that's some great material for a rear window decal. I think that it's potentially a big seller!! I'll take four of them if anyone want's to have them made!

That one could rival the popularity of Stan Holt's decal "Stockers are WAY Cool" of twenty years ago.

The NHRA web site says it's on at 9:00-10:00 but the Fox sports page says 10:00 and I remember Louis saying 10:00 as well.

argh , if only we could get any NHRA on Fox here in Australia . Instead of trying to find snippets on youtube .
I would love to see more of the sportsman racing , maybe even a couple of rounds not just finals

I think that I would trust the guide more that NHRA....

Fs2 is not HD here in upstate NY. I think they have added the Sportman Finals because that last hour of TV on Sunday was too much dead air-it was BORING with very little racing

I only have Fox Sports 1 on my Cox Essentials Plan, so I have to wait until 5:30am next Saturday to watch it on FS1, then off to Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park to get ready for 1st rnd eliminations at the CarQuest (Should also be called "Cactus") Nationals shortly thereafter that morning! :(

Just watched the show on Verizon Fios here in Massachusetts, very enjoyable and nice to see the sportsman do their interviews and get some tv time......really liked the Lucas Oil commercials too!

I don't have FS2 either, does anyone know if it can be streamed? But good news is it looks like all sportsman shows will be re-aired on FS1 usually a few days later. Sportsman interviews? Sounds great!

Over half way through the one hour show, it was still all alky cars eliminations. I quit watching.

The same feeling here Ed, I almost turned it off after 30 minutes, looked like the same old worthless ESPN program with a couple new faces doing the interviews. And I would have turned it off too if I wasn't interested in seeing how Fox was going to handle the show coverage. By 45 minutes into the program, I knew anything I had any major interest in wasn't happening. They wouldn't have had time left to show it

The general consensus from the Friday breakfast table racer guys at the local dive this morning was that Fox could have spread out the coverage of ALL the classes a lot more, not just focus on the alcohol guys round after round. (Yes, we know they're fast). Super Gas--which admittedly is not my style, got about 15 seconds of coverage without an explanation as to how and what they're doing in the one race they showed, Comp got practically no coverage, S and SS got more interview time with Fletch than anything else they showed. And how Erica Enders Stevens got such a lengthy segment in the latter part of the program is still puzzling to me. Isn't she a Pro driver? Isn't this a "Sportsman" program??
But we all agreed we're willing to give it some time. Still watching for now.
