Live from SGMP
Well here we go again. We made the trip from Bradenton to SGMP yesterday 295 windy miles. Some times the traveling is as interesting as the event you never know what you might see. Here are a few photos from our last day at Bradenton and our travels to SMGP.
We got lucky and dodged a tornado Wednesday, while napping my phone started alarming after I got up the RV was shaking with a ton of rain. These are some of the clouds we saw. http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7d63h0y7.jpg http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psye06pac4.jpg The local TV station showed something right over the track. http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psvbnonr48.jpg |

Re: Live from SGMP
Well day one is in the books. It turned out to be a great day for a race clear and a high in the mid 60s. I made it to the 3rd round and lost to Mike Griggs, Mike when on to a R/U finish to Chad Duke. The announcer had a lot of the names with the wrong car, standing in the lanes I here Robbie Welch winning a round and I'm in the lanes? I think the other Robbie Welch went further than I did. One thing I noticed here in TD is the amount Pro Chargers being used. They make crazy power, there where a number of TDs dialed 4.0. We did have one on track accident a TS car hit the wall, not sure who but he was ok. The HR car count was strong again with I believe 60 something cars here. Well todays another day, you've got to love these double races.

Re: Live from SGMP
Thanks for all the congrats. Like I said earlier you've got to love these double race's. Third round runner up one day and a winner the next its hard to believe. I'd like to take a minute to Congratulate Ernie Griggs on his R/U. You know the best part of traveling to different parts of the country is getting to meet so many great people. Ernie and Mike certainly fall in the that category. Here are some of the photos from the weekend.

Re: Live from SGMP
Well now comes the down time between races. We're staying in GA for a few days before heading to Gainesville. I'm having a hard time down loading photos, my Data is almost gone and the WIFI here is terrible. Here are some random photos from the weekend. This is one of the coolest HR vehicles I've seen. Mr Mobleys one of the nicest people you'll ever meet he built it himself everything including the engine and It goes low 10s, way cool truck.

Re: Live from SGMP
Yesterday was moving day, we moved from Cecil Bay RV park in GA to Dixieland RV park in Waldo. The trip is always an adventure, to start with I had a trailer flat on 75 thank God it was on the right side. Then the GPS send us on the rural rout to Waldo, we made it safely and we're at our new home for a while. Here are some photos from the trip.
NSACAR don't have anything on us, Rudy and I had the flat changed in no time. (thanks Rudy) Yea my trailer took a beating. http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psvxcebipp.jpg A cool old church in Waldo http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psquzzofvh.jpg Our new home in Waldo http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psjtirkaku.jpg |
Re: Live from SGMP
Way down upon the.
http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psjsfsw9tn.jpg Not sure what this was about? http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psrjyf3ghg.jpg This was our reward for a safe trip, you've got to try Cedar River. We where going to take a photo when we got our dinner but we couldn't wait. Believe me it was good. http://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/...psm2czb5nk.jpg |
Re: Live from SGMP
Famous Waldo, home of Dan Davork and speed traps...but know you're enjoying the weather. Robbie if your trailer aluminum wheel well trim took a beating I think I have one or two. Made for a Pace 24 footer with big axles. PM if you'd like more info.

Re: Live from SGMP
Jim it was good meeting you at SGMP, the fender is just scratched up some. The paint above the fender is gone but the panel is not bent. Are you come to Gainesville?
|
Re: Live from SGMP
You were fortunate to lose a tire and not do more damage....had a Goodyear blowout (duh!) that did a lot of damage coming back from Bowling Green and on a hectic part of I-75 no less. Good to meet you and it was great seeing Billy Italio out racing again, have lined up against his Duece Coupe all to often.
Hope to see you next Friday...looks like good riding weather. |
Re: Live from SGMP
Way to go Robbie on your win at SGMP. Keep it up. I'm so envious of you guys. One of these days. Love the pics too.

Re: Live from SGMP
Yea hoping to get on the MC today. Thanks Ray, if you ever get the chance to do the winter races do it. We have a great bunch of guy's to travel with and that always makes it fun. I've always thought of doing all the S/ST nationals but I don't know if I could swing it time and money. I've never been west of the Mississippi.
