Charlotte D2 event test n tune
$100 for a test n tune that runs from 5:00-9:00? Seems like a great deal... considering it gets dark by about 7:45 and dew will probably settle making the track inoperable by about 8:00?

Bruton always makes his $$, slick track or not.....

Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
D1 usually charges $75 and it is from roughly 10 or 11am until 5 pm.

Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
The best rip-off I ever heard was at Las Vegas one year. It was $100 to run test and tune, and the ad specifically stated three runs maximum. Wow. Thirty-three bucks, PER PASS. Many tracks, you pay less than that for a WHOLE NIGHT.
As a race promoter, I may be in the wrong part of the sport. lmao |
Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
Speaking of Vegas, those racers returning for the rained out LODRS race this past weekend ,that will be concluded in November must pay , I believe 50 bucks for 2 time trials prior to eliminations....The hits keep coming....Someone from D 1 told me I need to be more positive sooooo....At least Vegas is not charging 100 bucks for the T and T......

Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
Can't even find the event advertised on the ZMax web site. The only event flyer is on the division schedule.
|
Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
Not sure it will even happen. We are stacked in a field, for a divisional, pulling 5 rigs every 10 minutes, at a track that is 100% pavement. I haven't been this confused since Waterworld came out.

Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
Came into the Pre- Parking Red Dirt Field around noon- # 85 waited 3 hours to get in the track. Low and behold Roy Hill was parked Yesterday and all set up with 10 or so spots saved- WTF- .He's not an NHRA Sponsor !
Got parked - have to run up front to get my Ticket and wrist band- Go down to tech trailer to have my wrist band cut off and install my drivers band and receive my Tech card--- Go back to my pit area - warm the car and head to tech---WTF again ! This is one F%% up Mess. Lead -- Follow or Get Out of the Way ! Very poor Planning ! |

Yeah, me and my good friend DF have a favorite saying, "they continually find a new group to piss-off".
It's the last and best thing that they're good at !! Huh---- |

Hey look at it this way...... bad day @ the track beats any day @ work ! |
Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
I do have to say that even though it started late and wasn't prorated, it was a nice quiet test and tune and every time I went up I waited a max of 5 minutes to make a run. I got 5 runs. Also crew passes are only $25 this weekend which is by far the most reasonable deal I've seen.

Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
LV does give you a 3 punch card, but if they have a small group of customers, they don't bother with the card.
At least that has been my experience. You've got to figure , if the card was $25, you'd have so many cars, you'd probably only get three hits anyway. |
Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
Does anyone know if they are running any test and tune sessions next week before the Nationals begin?
Thanks |
Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
Larry, I don't believe a national event track can host a T and T prior to the race. There is a combo Saturday and Sunday within 165.3 miles of Hickory, Ky.

Re: Charlotte D2 event test n tune
Mr Larry just do what they do on TV, just find a good straight shot and you could be the next street outlaw!
