Congratulation to Jeff Verdi

Congratulation to Jeff Verdi on your win at the Spring Fling. $240.000.00 big reason to be happy. When you have determination nothing can get between you and your goal, also nice when Lady Luck shows up.lol Mr. Verdi trailered his race car from Virginia on an open wheel trailer to Las Vegas, had some luck in winning ticket to the big ball. Nice to see someone have the luck follow him to the end and of course talent doesn't hurt. CR.

Seriously?!?!? Cause we KNOW that the stock/super stock section has NOTHING to do with bracket racing!! LMAO!!

CONGRATS Jeff!!! So nice to see a "lil" guy do it without spending half a mil to get there!

Re: Congratulation to Jeff Verdi

hey 440 6pack did I forget to mention that he has won more money ($240k)than most racer including the pros! He's just a little guy decided to go to Vegas and try his chance towing his Firebird on his open trailer Behind his dually. Doesn't matter that he beat all the tubes chassis dragsters but that he won doing what he like. More Class racers should attend those races and show that they also can compete.Class racer don't dial racing!

Was the class stock/super stock? No? Bracket race! Wrong section.

Great job to Jeff, no disrespect at all.

and Jeff does it again, winning his second "Million" dollar race in 6 months!

He is the Top Gun!!

Don't know what the split was but based on entries, the winner would get $300,000!

Congrats

I only logged in this morning to see how the key board jokies ( I mean jockeys - LOL) would react to Jeff - I was not disappointed - some can not help but be a POS

Re: Congratulation to Jeff Verdi

In his two wins this year, Jeff won almost six-hundred thousand dollars ($570,000).

For comparison sake, winning fifty (50) NHRA national events would earn about the same amount (based on winners purses the past few years of twelve (12) grand).

Congrats Jeff.

Re: Congratulation to Jeff Verdi

Thread on livestream stated the win was $173k, and the splits started at 20 cars.

Not true, Jeff took home less than $100,000 from his Million win earlier this year and just over $150,000 last night.

Ok. I was basing it on before any split(s). Still a nice chunk of change, almost a quarter-million dollars for two wins (the same basically as twenty-one [21] national event wins).

Re: Congratulation to Jeff Verdi

almost a 1/4 million is a big difference from almost $600,000.

Still great wins and I believe more $ than anyone has ever won bracket racing in a single year.

Here's a link to the story on Jeff's win at Las Vegas.

And for inquiring minds, round by round coverage. http://dragstory.com/forum/index.php/topic,4112.0.html

Yes - splits are common in this type of $$$$ racing. Not so much in Class Racing because the $ is not that big.

I was following the event on MotorMania, that is quite the race. Congratulations to Jeff, that guy is a machine with a deadly car. Hard to believe two door cars made it to the final, and one was a truck! Brad Plourd was ru of Friday's race in a door car also.
Can somebody explain how the splits work?
Thanks,

Funny you should ask about splits. Current Issue of Drag Racing Edge - https://dragracingedge.com/magazine/2016/dre-issue-5/ - is a story on just that.

Re: Congratulation to Jeff Verdi

Thanks John, interesting article. Seems like there is no set format, the racers make it up as they go.
