Live from the Southern Nats
We're not there yet but close. We left home around 1:30pm and drove until 9:30 making it to SC where we met up with our old friend Keith. He said I've got a good spot to spend the night that's great. We get there, its a old well used truck stop and of course there's a gentle men's cub next door that's about as good looking (from the outside)as the truck stop. Did I mention the truck stop was very active (if you know what I mean). Well we made it thru the night and will be pulling out for the 2 1/2 hr drive to the track. Photos and report to come after we get set up.

We're here, now I remember why they call it HOT ATLANTA 84 at 10:30 I'm not complaining. Waiting in the stacking area but there moving now. More to come

Well we made it thru tech and are parked. The rains came around 5pm but it didn't storm but its been hot 88 degs. Here's a few photos from the road.

Going to be a busy day today. The schedule is for 3 time runs starting at 8am with stock. I heard a few rain drops last night but it looks good this morning it should be a great day at the races. We'll get some action shots today. More later.

Well after 2 time runs for sure this track is slow compared to our sea level tracks on the east coast. First run pulling 20 numbers out from VMP and I'm 10.996 second run and 20 more numbers out and I'm 10.93. looks like I'm pulling at least 10 more numbers out for our third run.

Well qualifying is done, I ended up getting it fast enough but its slow down here. We start today at 8am with stock then s/st scheduled for 3 rounds of eliminations. A couple of PRO MODs crashed yesterday in the same run (but not into one another) not sure of the cars but I heard they where ok.

Thanks Rick, well as you probably know I was a 1st round R/U. The big change in weather through me a curve and I didn't compensate for it very well. On a good note Keith is still in at 5 cars we're going to hang around to help out.

Well I was hoping to be here on Sunday but not quite like this. But its all good staying to help out Keith (like he needs it). Going to be an interesting couple of rounds Fletcher / Mullis, Morris gets the bye and Pauley/ Mayers and this is a big one, winner of this pair gets a bye in to the finals, now that's sweat. I'll try to let ya know how it turns out. Here's some more photos from the weekend.

As always, thanks for the great post Robbie. It was certainly a pleasure to finally have a opportunity to meet you and your wife. Ya'll think about coming to Bowling Green next week. It was nice seeing Keith again as well. Happy and safe travels to all.

Well as you know I was a 1st round RU but I did have some luck. After staying until Sunday to give Keith a hand we drove until VA and stopped at a rest area for the night. Before we stopped I told Teresa I felt something? Well the next morning checking tires this is what I felt an inside left rear flat. This could of been much worse, lucky for us the only thing we hurt was my wallet.
