"Live" from 2016 Jegs Sportsnationals!
 

Well, not exactly live yet, but we should be leaving shortly! It is a 3 hour drive for us, so we should be there mid afternoon. The gates are NOT open yet! It should be interesting to see if the traffic gets backed up to the interstate!! Anyway, we will be there in the middle of it soon! Any of you already there, feel free to post and let us know what is going on! We are really looking forward to a great weekend. The forecast is calling for a little rain, but hopefully it won't be too bad!!

Riding the Harley there tomorrow with GF. Only a 20% chance of thunder showers temps in high 80's should be nice. See you there.

Well we WERE makig good time. We are now at M&M tire service getting a tire on the toter. Luckily it didnt take out the interior.

Hope it clears out by tomorrow....Went to the Corvette Museum and a guy from New York was picking a NEW Z06.....think they were looking someplace to spend the night !

We are here but not sure where that is as a first timer. Some spot off the end of a curve in the public road stacked about six wide. Watching LSU baseball. Kent snoring!!!!

We are in and parked and pretty much set up. The line was moving pretty slow. There are lots of people here. There were lines coming in that I didn't even know existed at Bowling Green and we have been coming here for lots of years. Looks like it is going to be a big turn-out! Tech was supposed to start at 10, so I guess it is going on now.

We got detoured off to a side road that runs up to the main gate by the roller coaster. They closed the gate in front of us once myself and quite a few other rigs pulled up, and they're letting in the rigs off the main entrance still. I'm hoping they don't forget us but we've been sitting here not moving for 3 hours plus

Got to the hotel at 1300 started sprinkling at 1330 now it is a total deluge. If anyone sees Chuck Beech tell him to call me.

As we approach 5 pm it's only raining slightly, they are now pulling rigs into the staging lanes for the evening. There are some serious ponds here as a result of the rain. Tomorrow will be interesting .....

They are already running the 4 wide Motorhome & trailer combo bracket race on the top end...staging lanes are just that...staging for the 4 wides.

Superfan said he was making the trip to BG as well
Maple Grove looks to have the better weekend weather
Maybe you can re-route to Mohnton

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny!! With all the rigs parked in staging and the end of the track, we probably won't get started til afternoon I'm guessing. With 20/20 hindsight, it would of been nice if they would have parked everyone that was here yesterday as they rolled in. Then we wouldn't have the mess that we have now. Anyway we are here and we are going to have fun! Just had some good Ky farm raised deer stew that Jimmy Hidalgo cooked and we are ready for an early evening! I didn't get to take any more pics today, so hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get some!

Thanks Mike. I know the weather it's looking worse and worse this weekend. Unfortunately I pre paid my room and am only 4 hours away. Decision time.

Just spoke with Jay Hullinger right before he left the track. We're looking at a 1:00 Friday start time. There are dozens of rigs staged in the shutdown area and the staging lanes, and maybe fifty outside the gate yet to be parked. About three inches of rain this afternoon on top of saturated grounds makes for some soggy pit areas to try to park. So pass the word if you would about the delayed start times.

I sure hope all the rain does not affect the track prep as Beech Bend has a history of problems with water coming back up through the pavement downtrack.

We are supposed to get one hit today and class Saturday. Weather for Saturday looks 50/50, cross your fingers and hope for the best.

It is sunny and supposed to be 87 this afternoon. Schedule calls for 1 round of everything beginning with super street at 1. They are parking the rigs that are in the lanes. No rain until tonight, supposedly!
