SPOTTED! Unknown U/SA

4 Attachment(s)
Recently a NASA Tactical Spy Satellite spotted a unknown U/SA Camaro, in the Mid Atlantic area of the USA. Further investigation by a ground team the following pictures were taken.

Also uncovered was a unoccupied garage/bunker area. In it were empty boxes that held items like Bullit Cams, Autometer, GM 2GC Carburetor, ect which leads us to believe this is a true Stock Eliminator effort.

Also in the bunker were notes, scrap of papers with notes and calculations. Written on these notes was a mantra "what would Billy Nees do?", also "but Billy said, do it it this way", "what do you mean my primary header pipes are too short Billy?, they're 8 1/2 feet long already!" "They never made a 4 door Camaro Billy"

These mantra's were also written on the walls, like a crazy person would write. This leads us to believe he is a tortured soul. Many question to ask.

1) Did he know Chevrolets don't fit into U/SA anymore? Strickly a Ford affair?
2) Did he start the project and midway NHRA refactored the 302 Ford?

Is he suffering today like a Established Republican, "you can come to the party, but don't plan to dance!" Oh the humanity !

Will

All we know it is a 1978 Camaro 305 2V combo. Owner is a member of this forum, I will leave it up to him.

Hint: He does wear size 16 shoes (we always thought that made him go faster)

Even though this fits Larry Hill's description, it's not him.

A thunderstorm comes along blows my car cover off and next thing I know some drone flies over photographing my car and now it's on class racer !
This Camaro is my double-dime rocket project I began 2 years ago. My combo can run R,T, or U/SA with 305-2V. This build is based on the Dime Rocket thread from 2 years ago. Car has not hit the track yet ,presently setting up rear differential.
This will be my final build after selling my Monza stocker back in 2014.
Billy and Dwight have been very instrumental helping with their advice and insight and I am very grateful for their sharing their knowledge.
Division 9 is the Carolinas IHRA. Now that we have 4 NHRA tracks in the area, I will need to renew my NHRA permanent number. VMP, Galot, Rockingham, Z-Max.

Hey Joe,

Thanks for recruiting me for the posting, had a good time. Didn't get to say the car is really, really nice, and as you know I am at the same stopping point, considering a mule motor myself. Pat Hennebery has a 454 out of a truck, I might be able to use it, rering and bearings, put my heads on ect. I will know in a couple weeks.

What gears are you using again? Is it a Turbo 350?

Will

Ah, thanks Joe (and others). I didn't even consider IHRA.
Looks great. Good luck with the project.

The Camaro looks really nice, Joe! If your attention to detail is the same with this new project as it was with the Monza (and I'm sure it is :)), you'll be right back in the thick of it in no time! I'm trying to make some of the CCRA races this Summer myself!
