Good afternoon gang - Well, what I thought was going to be a hop, skip and a jump up here has turned into quite a ride as the traffic is a nightmare in both New Jersey and into New York .

Today is both tech and parking plus later on will be a track operated test and tune which hopefully i'll get there in time for .

Back a bit later ....

Tech went OK this afternoon and the test n tune was even better .You would think that on a hot July 4th weekend the traction would suffer but not here as wheelies were plentiful this afternoon and tonight - the place was just fab even with the 3200' DA .

Here are a few pics taken from that session ........And two cars to watch tomorrow - Eric Merryfields Drag Pak with a stick in it but I couldn't tell which FS class he was in and and the COPO Camaro of Phil Langford in FS/C...

Here in Southern California that's our mid day light traffic.

Good morning all - In a few hours we'll kick off this event - hopefully before the rains and storms hit as it's very cloudy already and the migraine I've got is telling me the pressure is already present .That said it could wait until this afternoon to come by or even later as the schedule is for all of us to get at least two hits today and possibly a third because of the short fields in attendance .

The barometer is again in the toilet @ 29.35 as it was yesterday-but the Vapor Pressure is much better at .36 . At this moment its 60 degrees but with 68 percent humidity present and a final DA of almost 1400 feet .

Good morning - Today is the one we've all been waiting for - sunshine ,blue skies and no bad weather in sight .Temp at this time is a cool 62 degrees with the humidity at 68 % but burning off fast .And another day of low barometer -29.26 so we're at 1600 feet already.

Everyone will get one more pass this morning on the Lebanon Valley 1320 and then it's on to elims .......

Back a bit later .

Well was at the race and the engine decided to take some water into the crank case. to bad the engine and the driver were doing good.
At home and the engine is almost out.

Thanks to Jack for the reports, since I had to leave this is the next best thing to being there.

Stock finished their first round after a lengthy oil down .Big headwinds slowed most - .03 to 07 depending on the car .Stock is done for the day - S/S will be out this afternoon .......pics later .

Tomorrow we'll run round two of Stock and on the left side of the ladder are - get this - seven F/SA cars - and four of them will meet in rd 2 -Gosselin vs O'Loughlin and Williams vs Moulton and if Massafra wins his round he will face either Gosselin or O'Loughlin in round three - Ticcony and Lowell are a few rounds from meeting .Confused ?? Stay tuned .....And there are no F/SA cars on the other side of the ladder .And no other heads-up meetings.

This one of those times I wish I was in the stands watching instead of racing as this matchup had it all - shoebox vs new generation - LT style engine vs LS supercharged engine - Carl is in his sixties vs David in his thirties and let us not forget the almost 5 second headstart the COPO Camaro had to give the 55 .And the fifty-five looked like it was built last week vs Davids factory fresh .I could go on and on ..........

Good morning members and guests - Last nite featured mud slinging roundy rounds next door at the Speedway track with fireworks thrown in for good measure .Way too much dust for me but the paying crowd loved it .

This morning we'll resume elims in an hour or so and ClassRacer will try and keep you informed ............later .

BTW , a big Happy Birthday to recent Summernationals champ Carl Massafra .One last thing - last night I got to meet Jean Williams and there really is a 'Bank of Jean' as she and Lenny are married 37 years .

Re: Live from Lebanon Valley,NY-NHRA Lucas Oil Series

Old versus New. This WAS an incredible race to watch, Jack. It appeared that Carl left with a good light. David hit the throttle on that supercharged machine, and the rpm jumped instantly. The supercharged engine was noticeably louder than any of the other stockers. The front end went up on about a 30 degree angle, and then just hung there as the car accelerated down track. It reminded me of the old C.A.R.S. 10.5 tire black 69 Camaro and how it just drove down the track with the front wheels about 5 feet in the air, not going higher or lower. Anyway, at about 300 feet, the Camaro landed. David had to peddle it, and I don't remember if it was while it was in the air, or after it landed, but I believe he was drifting towards the wall. He was off the throttle, and immediately back on it, much like a fuel racer peddling it to try to salvage a run. I heard myself say out loud, "Let off, Carl!". But, at 100 mph, there is no judging a 160 mph car. Carl later told me that he did let off, but it was too late. This was one of the most entertaining runs that I have seen in a long time.
