Re: Hemi Challenge odds
Why is there only AH car with Westcott power? Charlie has shown he can win and outrun any hemi car running. I'm just curious why no one has his motors?
|
Re: Hemi Challenge odds
. I'm sure everyone on the odd's list is very happy the Westcott's arent racing in AH anymore. How many people on this list have beaten the Westcoot's. NOT very many. The odd's maker didnt pick well as Stephen Hebert has never made it past second round. Steve Kent should be at the top of the list. I've got time to type also as I'm an NHRA racer, waiting in lines no matter what you do at any NHRA National Event.
No one admitting they have a Wetcott motor or can no one afford a $60K grenade. Tomorrow will be a great day here at Indy. Lines, Lines and more Lines. Even Jason Line has hemi's in ss and s. Yea Bucky and Travis. |
Re: Hemi Challenge odds
If I was a betting man I'd go with the Kandy Kuda best of luck to all the competitors
|
Re: Hemi Challenge odds
Looks like a drivers race this year, and Joe Teuton is the man to beat.

Re: Hemi Challenge odds
For those folks looking to see the AH cars up close, we have been moved. The Copos are where we were normally parked (Chevy US Nats, go figure) and now we are about 100 yards north by the maintenance building. Of course my car will be on display ALL day after 2nd round as ALWAYS. Come by, never a LINE.
And I do agree with informed folks above that Kent has the car to beat |
Re: Hemi Challenge odds
Hebert was runner up three years ago and most of the guys wish CW was still here. He does have one complete engine customer here and 4 with his pieces. Jr Baum builds his own stuff with Westcott parts.. But the real question is where is WALDO?
|
Re: Hemi Challenge odds
QUOTE: most of the guys wish CW was still here.
I'll bet they do. I'm sure they're crying themselves to sleep every night. Racing Westcott was like taking a knife to a nuclear war. |

Re: Hemi Challenge odds
Mr. Comella,
I know your one of the fastest AH cars competing. You've earned your place in AH. I didn't realize you run a Westcott motor and I had NO idea you could get 85 passes out of hemi, especially as hard as you buzz them. Good luck in the hemi shootout. |

Re: Hemi Challenge odds
Whats the "Over-under" on how many will still be moving under their own power by friday morning?
|
Re: Hemi Challenge odds
Did Dan Zrust hurt his motor or just make a bad run? I heard Zrust has Barton heads and other parts in his motor.
Mr. Westcott, Cars with your hemi/bowtie power will be running friday, kent, hess & Teuton. |
Re: Hemi Challenge odds
How many different engine builders are represented in this years Hemi Shootout ? I know of several ( Barton, Line, Westcott, R&M, Armstrong , Caro...). Who am I missing ?
Is there anyone with a list of each car, with who builds each engine ? |
Re: Hemi Challenge odds
I dont keep track anymore who all has my stuff. I make so many components for those clunkers, most everyone that isnt a Barton car has bought something from me, or has parts and doesnt know it.

Stephen Hebert, What a true sportsman gentleman. What a nice gesture to loan Dan Zrust an engine. Scared the crap out Dan going 8:71. I think thats the fastest he has ever went. Congratulations to MR. Hebert for helping a fellow racer Mr. Zrust.

Re: Hemi Challenge odds
Congratulations to young Jimmy Daniels on his Shootout win. Enjoyed watching a three generation family celebration at end track and they graciously included me. This was some tight racing all day but not so much in the night. We should have run the final in front of pros like years past DAYLIGHT!!!. I hope this is not the new norm. Glad Bucky is fine and I did not even know he was having issues as I was busy etc.
PS Thank you Reher Morrison, Holt race cars and my hometown redneck crew for a top qualifier car. Phish |

Mr. Sofranco, Where is your NOVA stick currently? It was a very impressive car. Just curious.

Re: Hemi Challenge odds
Where is Waldo?
The question is who HAD Waldo. I am starting a new fad in SS/AH while keeping with my elevator not going to the top or BB not going in the hole etc tradition. Since I had a spare RMRE AH motor for sale last year at less than half price and had no takers, we have renamed it Waldo. (I will have to restamp over “CHUCKWHEAT” on ID plate). Each year a Waldo recipient will be selected and must remain anonymous until the results of the first round of a race are completed. Racers that are accustomed to routine runs against historically slower cars must now fear Waldo may in the next lane. He may have just lifted after the eight mile in qualifying to be near bottom of the ladder. No longer will anyone be called a “duck” like I was at Maple Grove years ago by an engine builder from Pa. that will remain nameless. LOL Of course to be considered you must gift one gallon of Select Crown Royal to Phish and sign a 426 page nondisclosure agreement. WHO HAD Waldo???? Dutch participants BEWARE!!!! |
