Live from the IHRA TOC race in Memphis
Well not yet but we'll be pulling out hopefully by midday. We did a little testing (new driveshaft) at MDIR yesterday running the bracket race and made it down to 4 cars that was a nice way to start this trip. We're planning on doing some tourist stuff while in Memphis so we'll have lots of photos of our trip and race. Stay tuned !

Thanks guys I'm going to try. Well the traffic on Rt81 is terrible backed up for miles, we made it to Roanoke VA after getting a late start (2:30) and we're now parked in the Walmart Hilton parking lot. We should be on the road early tomorrow but its still a long drive I'll post photos when we get there.

Well we're finally here, its been a long ride close to a 1000 mile but we made it and are parked in the staging area on asphalt. Tomorrow we'll be on the bike checking out some sights. First on the agenda is a visit to Grace land and a paddle boat ride on the Mississippi (I've never seen it) we also want to find a Memphis BBQ joint (I've watched to many food channel programs) I here its good out here. Well here are a few travel photos its always funny the things you see on the road. Thanks Greg we're going to enjoy this experience.

We got to knock a couple things off the to do list today. We went to Grace Land and I got my Memphis BBQ we ate at The Pig on Beale St. Dave we couldn't make Rendezvous it didn't open until 4:30 and I didn't want to be in town with the traffic on the bike. Tomorrow there's a rumor that there going to start parking, we'll see. Tomorrows plan for us is to find the Mississippi,I'm going to keep riding west until I run into it. Sterling, have fun riding and be safe the weather will be changing soon. Cooter thanks, been thinking about you and the storm hope you made out ok? Todays mission is finding the Mississippi I've lived near a river my entire life and my dad was a watermen his entire live so there's a strong connection between the water and me. Photos to come

Well I knew we'd find it if we just kept looking and I'm so glad we did. The Mississippi is a cool river rich in history and well worth the visit. Also if your ever in Memphis you have to go see the Bass Pro Shop it doesn't matter if your into fishing and hunting it's an unbelievable building. Today is starting out quite different then the last couple of mornings. A couple of rain drops fell last night and today is a little over cast and cooler a welcome relief. There's a good number of cars already here. I believe the plan for today is a T&T starting at 1-7pm we're definitely taking advantage of that. More later.

Thanks Doug I'll tell Porter also. We got teched in and I was in the first pair down the track. I was 014 10.888 not to bad of a guess the DA was 1530 then the clouds started rolling in and you can fell the weather changing. I put a new set of plugs in and changed the jet 2 numbers the DA is 1200 and falling. Tomorrow its going to be a Hi of 65 degs. Now it spitting rain and a good 10+mph wind blowing. They say its going to clear up around 4PM we'll see.

Well the rains finally won. They dried the track and called us up (all class's) and wouldn't you know it the sprinkles started up again. The plan now is to go thru the awards ceremony's starting at 10AM and start the T&T at 12PM until 4PM then go in to qualifying. The weather should be good see ya tomorrow.

Thanks Marshall,(that is you right). Today is a new day the AC was running the night before last and the heat was on last night. Its clear and cold in the 40s this morning and the wind is still blowing its going to be fast out there. This morning is the awards ceremony which should be cool then its back to the T&T. If you hear and grumblings about a 2017 schedule let us know, hopefully would like to start working on a .90 schedule in the next few weeks once NHRA releases the Divisional Schedule and IHRA releases what they are planning. |

That's me Robbie, it's been awhile since I 've seen you I talked to Craig at Jackson last year. My youngest son is now the driver and is still learning so we have not ventured to far from home don t want to bring a knife to a gun fight but he is coming along nicely. I still keep up with the sport both sides everyday and really enjoy your live coverages and will be watching on motor mania. Good luck to my 2 favorite FORD drivers.

Rob, will do but we haven't heard anything I'll put Porter on it he likes to talk. Marshall it'll be great to see you again and young Marshall. I talked to your dad a couple years ago at Carolina nice man and a great family. Chris the sweet 16 was canceled because of the rain yesterday. They had our money and a lot of cars never went down the track so everyone got 1 T&T run this morning. The super series is just now getting there qualifying run. Will today started out pretty good they had the awards ceremony and it was pretty cool I got a great trophy and a nice check (Florida here we come) Todays run were a lot different then yesterday to say the least. It was fast I was 011 10.817 came back and was 015 10.94. We get one more qualifying run tomorrow morning then in to eliminations. He are some photos from the awards ceremony.

Robbie we are fine, lots of flooding in our area but none of it affected us except for all the road closures. I did have to skip Silver Dollar race because it was going to take an extra 3 hours to get there because of all the detours. Thanks for thinking of us, I'll be rooting you on this weekend!

Well today is the day it's the one we've waited for all season and I'm fortunate to be here. IHRA put on a party last night (very nice) they had the give away dragster out and its beautiful. Today is starting out clear and cold I just hope the wind stays away (square cars don't like wind) . The plan for today is the super series car's get 1qualifing run and then run the first round before we run our qualifying run so we probably won't be on the track before 12PM.

I tracked down the guy from Alaska with the clean 64 Malibu. It's got a pump gas 632 in it and has been driven on the street Monty's car is super clean and different.

Well the run for the World championship is over it didn't end quite the way I'd hoped it would but we ended up 3rd I just messed up in the semi's and gave the stripe back (again). You have to drive both ends of the track now its the long hall home. Congrats to 2 of our local racer for doing well Jeff Gardiner got RU in stock and a local bracket racer Mickey Nelson took it home in Box and got the big win with the new dragster and all the rest of the goodies. Congrats on the win Mickey
