Grading points question for Len Imbrogno

Do you have to have a grading point to run the Jegs Sportsnationals at Columbus? If you do, can you run the points race at Bowling Green this month and it count for the grading point?
Thanks,
Patsy

Patsy,
No grade points are needed to enter any of the sports nationals. Hope to see you and Larry there.

Thanks for your response, Len.
We will be there along with our son Chris who hasn't raced in a while. That was the reason for my question.
Thanks again.
See you there.
Patsy

Larry, are you bringing the pink car with the blue indoor/outdoor carpet?

Regretfully no. Still don't have it ready. Somehow I need to figure out to retire so I will have time to work on it. Are you coming up to Columbus? Be sure and bring crawfish!!

This is a National Event. Field will be max of 128 qualifiers against their respective indexs for stock and superstock.

Chip,

I think it is open to 200 cars in both Stock & Super/stock classes, with the Top 128 in each class going to the dance.. Someone please correct me but I think that is right...Where's Pat J when you need him........ Chip, let me know where your next race is ?

As slow as I am I'll probably miss that one.

Dave probably Darlington,Jackson,Rockingham.

We may shove Epping and MIR in if we get car working and Vending Machines full.

I would like to try an NHRA event before the end of the year but there are a lot of conflicting dates.

Len,

If you have no grade points, how do you register online for the Sportnationals. With 0 grade points it does not allow you to register. Thanks.

Len,
To follow up on this thread, since you don't need a grade point to get in are you awarded one for entering as you are at an Open?

Re: Grading points question for Len Imbrogno

Joe,
Yes, I noticed that because of the way the on-line systen is designed it requires a grade point to pre-enter via computer. We may have to go directly through the competition department in California for pre-entry.
I will check for you on Monday morning and post an answer for you. Entry will also be available the day of the event on-site.

John,
Becasue this event awards national event points it does not award a grade point. However, this has been discussed and perhaps this is something that NHRA should consider.

Pat Joffrion's race at Belle Rose, LA (Cajun Sportsnationals) was set at 128 cars. Entry fee could be made at the gate or submitted earlier at a discount via the internet on the No Problem web site, not NHRA's site.
It is called the Sportsnationals, for sportsman racers, it should have a 300 car field, not 128.
BTW, that race was the best run, best accomadating, and most fun.
