Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
The weather is beginning to cool down and the barometer is going up. Who is coming to the race? What records are going to be attempted at in Stock and Super Stock? I have word that a few people are traveling from the west. How about D1, D2, D3, and D5? If you think (or know) you're fast, come on down and let it loose!

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
I have heard rumors about Chris Holbrook, Kevin Skinner, and David Barton continuing their pursuit of a 7 second run in Stock; but I don't know if there is any truth to those rumors.

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Got my eye on the GT/A class record.
|
Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
That would be really cool to see the 1st 7 second run! Jeff, 8.80s would be pretty good!
|
Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Being told Barton is bringing COPO & AH Hemi, Skinner is considering, & Holbrook has too much work to leave.

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Cooter I (as opposed to Cooter II), why don't you call Stevie Ray and see if we can park Thursday, or maybe a test and tune. Maybe me & you & Allen & Whooever Else can play Heads Up. That's your job now go do it and don't let Jimmy get in the way.

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Hey, can I play heads up with you guys??? The boys in Arlington dialed me up a bullet for next week. Only pulled to 7500 as testing carbs. Hope the other parts can hold up. Wolk coming so we are going to match race. 2 & 0 Phish

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Any info on parking, etc. on Thursday. Looks like we will get there Wed or Thurs morning. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Mike, they seem to be stuck on Friday morning and the posted schedule. We have asked about earlier, but so far no response. Maybe Cooter knows something?

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
I have not taken a day off work in so long I have forgotten how. From my crazed spectator viewpoint, which would be the best day to be there if I can only get free for one?
|
Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Saturday; Eliminations and record runs either backup or primary will take place that morning and teardown after the race.
|
Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Hope to be there then! Thanks

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
I am trying to get permission to hire (and pay) an NHRA official to weigh, fuel check, and seal from 1PM till the Div 4 crew gets there so we can run them to death for National Records. Sorta like Orlando used to be for those old enough to remember. Weather looking good. Barometer is 30.15 today, will probably drop tomorrow and then rise getting real good on Saturday. Hoping for a 30.30 or so.

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Parking on Thursday is going to be from about 12-dark (about 5). Track manager has an appointment Thursday morning and he said he will be there after that, so it may possibly be a little earlier than 12.

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Looking like shorts on Friday and sweatshirts on Saturday.

This super moon has caused some weird stuff. I put Secretariat in his stacker stall earlier today for the trip to Belle Rose and happened to walk out after dark, when the moon was up. He was popping wheelies in the stall, snorting, and uttering a four letter word. I thought it was SHAM! SHAM! , the horse he beat three times for the triple crown back in the day. BUT it was something else. WOLK! WOLK!
What are we going to see this weekend?????? It's all fun.... Spacerless |
Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Well looks like we are camping at the Pilot in LaPlace tonight. Will head over to track tomorrow. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
After you tech in do you need CREDENTIALS for this race, just checking how early I would need to get there to make all the runs?

Dale,
Hey mate, sooner or later you'll get it right! Mr. Time optimist, Dale H. ?? |
Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Hey Bernie, I'm your bud not your "MATE", in Texas it's a whole lot cheaper to get rid of a bud, just run out of beer and food but, to get rid of your Mate is expensive.

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Team Woodfin planned to make the race and was looking forward to it but we were not able to work out all the details. We'll see y'all next season.

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Frito sees 4 AH Hemis to show up. Maybe 2 "spaces" left. Waldo is taking a break. But he will crank it up soon.

Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
Sounds like I missed a very fast event. Would have enjoyed watching all of you at your best. Was hoping to come watch and maybe meet a lot of you. I started here on the Hemi Dart thread several years ago and like I am a spectator at the races , I have been a spectator here. Always a sportsman fan.
I did get to go fast last Tuesday in an ambulance ride to the coast. That's what messed up travel plans to Belle Rose. EMT's thought stroke ( so did I) but was a ugly reaction to some new meds. Note: always read possible side effects. Hopefully see some of you at it again in the spring. Happy Thanksgiving! |
Re: Belle Rose Roll Call and Record Runs
We had a great time, brought 3, broke 3, how is that for a batting average. Season would not be complete without acknowledging Don Garrison for feeding the entire pits. I don't know if it was the crab balls with a little jalapino, alligator balls, fried fish, fried chicken, grilled chicken, pork loin, hamburger steaks, dirty rice, green beans, sausage, and I can't remember the rest. There was more. All day Friday and Saturday. That is about the third or fourth time I have seen No Problem get that good. When we took down the weather station after breaking No. 3, it was still -300. Nice way to end the season, we got time to fix the stuff. After watching two good teams try to get into the 7's, I think we all know it's gonna be tough. Get the air and 9" ain't enough tire. Both were dialing below 8 for the first two rounds.Hope everyone had a good time. And pork chops. And the two teams were David Barton and Stephen Bell. And we had the top rung of race reporting who was doing all the could for info to report for his customers on Class Racing.
