Dime rocket hemi?

What is the slowest combo you can think of where you can run a gen-1 hemi? Probably a high-line four-door or wagon with weight added to go one above the natural class. I spent a few minutes on Class Racer Info and found a 1967 Plymouth Belvedere II station wagon 3-seat @ 9.76lb/in that can go into E/S-E/SA (10.00lb/in).

I stopped there. Perhaps there are combos that fit F/S-F/SA or even lower?

Don't think a Gen l came in a 67. Gen ll. Tough to do a gen ll as a dime rocket.

Dime Rocket Hemi? There are some words that don't belong in the
same sentence. i.e. Jumbo Shrimp, My friend the lawyer, run slowly,
etc.

Re: Dime rocket hemi?

Depends on your interpretation of a dime. If a dime is a $million, it can be done but you still need to budget for a toter, trailer, golf cart and some spare junk. Go for it!!!

I think you could get the Gen II Hemi in a coronet wagon in 66. Don't know if it got in the book or not. Did Jack McCormack have one? In the 66 parts book, the illustration for the coronet wagon in the body parts section is a Hemi wagon.

All the B body wagons are listed in the guide for 66 and 67 with the six and nine passenger wagons with the Gen II 426/425 Hemi. Let the Wagon Wheels Roll.

I do think Mike has a special kind of optimism.

I have seen one in D3 run D SA....I know that Jack had one completely restored but the car was destroyed after making a pass at the track. This happened a few seasons ago.

Re: Dime rocket hemi?

This has all kinds of bad written all over it. Unless you have a nice roller to start with, just finding a decent shell, with all of the necessary trim and etc intact will blow the typical "dime rocket" budget. A lot of the Wagon parts are unique to the Wagon also.

I have a '66 Coronet, a pair of re-chromed bumpers alone got me for $1800. Start there and think this through thoroughly...

My bad. I'm referring to the 426 Hemis.

How about a "Dollar Rocket" then?

Bailey, you have moved to the DarK SidE of the contest, and therefore you cannot comment on things that eat the top of trees. Probably over your head anyway.

This man speaks the truth. There's an '81 hemi Reliant wagon out back here at my place. The emblems are for real.

Tom,
What an ugly thing to say. I know it's true. It was a dark time in Chrysler history and may the words Hemi and K-Car never be spoken together again.

Well here ya go!!!! This was running when parked in my home town since late 70's when gas hit 1.35. Owner said haul it off for a case of beer. Engine don't look too bad but sure the gas tank etc will have to be cleaned. Some marvel oil may do the trick.

Back when is was a kid there was supposedly a hemi wagon the was used by the sheriff dept in a county north of where I grew up. Back then they used to transport people to the hospital. Rumor was they did not have it long, could not keep it running.

Rory, how does Ram Hellcat sound? Since we are going to have Demons and the next one, lots of rumors, 800 hp and such, and the Grand Cherokee Hellcat, but only at 707. K car is another issue. We can just go around that one. Just for kicks, yall do know the Hellcat as currently produced at 378 inches is a 392 with a little less stroke. Same cam, same heads, stronger pistons, no MDS but has VVT. Demon I think has a bigger blower for sure and maybe some valve train refinements. All this is rumor of course.

So if this fantasy car is in the guide did it also come with the hood scoop

It should be in the book shortly. However Dime or Quarter don't count on that car.

This one is in the guide and has a scoop. Trump team special ordered it to help "Drain the Chebbies and Furds". Just drug a Camaro here in front of the house. Chevy 0 Mopar 1; Out looking for a Furd.

Ran across this 66 Coronet 440 wagon 6 passenger on Craigs List. It is listed in the NHRA classification guide at 9.69 with the 426 Hemi
