Redman petition
We need to get a petition started against nhra if anybody knows how for them to keep Redman working to keep things moving smoothly at the races . Just talked to red and nhra has him on the no hire list so that means no Redman at national event or divisional a or the hot rods so we need to get something going. Thanks Gary Summers

Re: Redman petition
Wow. A man who does so much for so little $ can't fix stooopid
|
Re: Redman petition
Ever watch him at Indy paring cars, inserting standbys, his paper looks like a D-Day invasion plan; that one race alone makes him invaluable. Plus he's personable and approachable....something NHRA could use a lot more of

Re: Redman petition
Wow. That's just not right! Redman is a First Class Act! NHRA can't replace that.
|
Re: Redman petition
I will sign it Gary. We need more people like Redman! Will he still work Div 3 events?
|
Re: Redman petition
Are they trying to piss everybody off or are they just that stupid?

Re: Redman petition
I could be wrong with this but I was under the impression that Redman pissed off a few of the big shots up in the Ivory Tower. If that IS the case, it will take more than a petition to get him back.

Re: Redman petition
Bill Redman Floyd was probably the best friend of the racers that NHRA had on their staff anywhere.
That said, I get the impression that the people above the division tech level at NHRA do not know, understand, or give a damn that racers are family, and that guys like Redman, Travis Miller, Dave Ley, and others are a part of our family. Sportsman drag racing is, for the most part, a family sport. What they will eventually discover is that when they continue to screw over the family that is sportsman drag racing, their little world will cease to exist, because they certainly do not have the slightest idea how to attract new people to drag racing. The only thing bringing in new people is the family, that brings their youth to the sport. |
Re: Redman petition
Just another straw on the camel's back. NHRA doesn't care, because the camel's back never breaks.
I would take Redman over anyone in the Ivory Tower in a heartbeat. |
Re: Redman petition
Reddog was on the verge of quitting anyway . His legs are killin him...They might be doing him a favor

Re: Redman petition
Actions talk stronger then words, have all sportsman racers go in to staging, lock their vehicles and then walk away. See what the NHRA staff does then? I went to Suffolk to set the record with my Camaro, after making the back up run, NHRA said that they weren't allowing record setting. So,as my turn I put my car on the scale at Suffolk race way and then locked it, went to the tower and discussed it with officials about no record setting. We set records.

Re: Redman petition
Gary,
For whatever it is worth, if you do a search, there are a couple of websites that host online petitions, they'll allow you to set up a petition and give you a link you can post and distribute via email. I have no idea how you get the results to NHRA, or who at NHRA you would get them to. |
Re: Redman petition
Alan, you know very well the NHRA is all about the family, specifically the JFR and DSR families but a few others to 'spice' up things...apparently you build a huge youth following by letting them smell nitro in the pits, selling them T shirts, etc. There must be a connection to the instant gratification mentality that runs rampant today and of course we know that's not an identifiable demographic amongst the sportsman ranks. Don't have a clue as to the NHRA hierarchy but there must be some family connections regarding hires within the IT department, marketing, etc. so based on all that I'd have to say they are very family oriented.
From all appearances Redman and his ilk are too closely associated with "our" family rather than the NHRA family, hence his persona non grata status. |
Re: Redman petition
Redman is as good as they get, won't be the same at races without him.

Re: Redman petition
From my understanding this all started with Redman last year and now this year it is not any better. I talked to him at Las Vegas last fall and that was his story. He was the best at the parking plan than anyone I know and I am old.
I also understand Harold who usually runs the front of the staging lanes is on a 4 race suspension. NHRA just does not understand any of the Sportsman racers and does not care to understand any of us. My 2 Cents Rick Cates Canyon, TX |
Re: Redman petition
On the hottest, sunniest days Red's starting line had nails in it !!
Not to mention all of the other positive things he brings. |
Re: Redman petition
I don't know the process of getting a petition started but I'd gladly sign it.

Re: Redman petition
the clue for NHRA should be ..... look at ALL the cars that has Bill's decal on them ! And not to mention The Redman tee shirts !!
Where do I sign ! |
Re: Redman petition
I fear that the Executive Level staff are further than ever from understanding the motivation within any racer be it professional or sportsman. They clearly do not value their employees that are customer facing and have a passion to support racing and racers. Sad...

Re: Redman petition
This is just B.S, you couldn't find a better man then Red, there is only ONE way to get there att. Nobody enter for a National or show up for a Div. race, no mighty dollar in there pocket, will get there att. BUT there are too many Wally chasers and N"<& lovers. There is still another place to race in the I section, everyone complains they pay no money, but no one will support them. like to see Red over here and there still is bracket racing and i bought one of them cars. Get that paper out i will sign it, and watch my name come off the Gators entry list soon. hang in the Red. Brian

Re: Redman petition
I think Jim said it best they don't value there employees. Its ashame really, who knows stock and super stock better than the old guys in tech! Without them what is stock and superstock, just another bracket race, I hope NHRA higher ups get on this website and read this stuff they can really learn alot here. I really don't understand what NHRA is doing lately but its definateley not helping anyone! I'm afraid they will lose a lot of the good guys if they don't change there ways, just my opinion.

Re: Redman petition
You all know that NHRA reads some of this stuff. In the past usually some rep of some kind has responded on some topics. You know they see this don't you. Then here is your answer.
Everyone should just post right here and ask the question. NHRA, IN SUPPORT OF OUR SPORT, WHY ARE YOU IGNORING SPORTSMAN. NHRA, IN SUPPORT OF OUR SPORT, WHY ARE YOU IGNORING SPORTSMAN. NHRA, IN SUPPORT OF OUR SPORT, WHY ARE YOU IGNORING SPORTSMAN. Ron Ortiz U/SA well NHRA |

Re: Redman petition
Redman is without question one of the best. He could do it all from prepping a killer starting line to parking all the rigs. I know he busted his butt to make us Sportsmen racers happy, and we know that's not an easy task! Lol! He is definitely an advocate for us! I will gladly sign a petition!!!

Re: Redman petition
everyone knows how nhra treats sportsman still we support them. WHY? maybe IHRA would like to have him. redman comes with hot pickles and beer what a resume.......he is the best nhra could ask for and they let him go stupidity for sure
