Tragic news - Stock racer
I have no reason to doubt the thread that this racer started, be we have apparently lost Brett Reithmiller and his wife.
http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/...gonew=1#UNREAD I don't recall if I ever had the opportunity to talk to him. But I always try to keep an eye on the nice Mopars at the races. Condolences to family and friends. |

Re: Tragic news - Stock racer
It seems surreal that they are gone, they were always friendly to everyone, always willing to offer help and most off all, always smiling. May God look down on their children and may they rest in peace.

This is very sad. This is a classic thing I see all to often, trying to avoid hitting an animal, and hitting a tree, guard rail ect. , only this time the outcome was the worst it could be. Even though it's human nature to not hit the animal, it's not always the best choice. |
Re: Tragic news - Stock racer
Man, that is a shame. He was a really nice guy and good drag racer with a really cool and fast hemi car. We had a couple of very close races against eachother in IHRA competition.
This kind of stuff is part of life, but that doesn't make it any easier. God Bless. Jeff Day |
Re: Tragic news - Stock racer
This is really sad news. The where very nice people and so young. What a shame. RIP
|
Re: Tragic news - Stock racer
Im so sorry to hear this. I deal with this all the time and it never gets easy. As mentioned above it is better to just hit whatever is there and get it stopped the best you can. Usually vehicles that try to avoid hitting an animal overcorrect and end up overturning. I work a lot of fatality crashes because of this. God Bless them.

Has a trust fund or anything been set up for the kids as of yet? This is a real tragedy, and I feel terrible for the kids. I hope that have a good home to go to, but we should try to set something up for them. Have any idea on how to do this if it hasn't been done already??? Call me if we need to discuss... |

Tragic news - Stock racer
This just brings tears to my eyes. I just can't stop thinking about those 2 young girls, now growing up , without a mother and father. My wife and I have 2 daughters also, and on numerous occassions remember exchanging "girl stories" together with Brett and Penny.
This is just horrible news for all who knew them. We will pray for the girls that God will get them through this Love In Christ Marty, Tammy, Morgan & Lexi Rinehart |

Re: Tragic news - Stock racer
I am very shocked and sad to hear this terrible news. I met this fine couple several years ago at Chicago, they were nice enough to deliver some parts to me from a friend in their home state to the race at Chicago. I hung out with them all weekend like we had known each other all our lives. We have traded Christmas cards and phone calls each year since then, couldn't ask to have met nicer folks.
