"LIVE" From Indy D3 LODRS

OK - so this is not a "LIVE FROM" report - it's a "LIVE REMOTE" report. I looked at the weather and made the decision not to make the 5 hour tow.

BUT - there are some racers that did make the trip and are sending info to get up for the CR readers.

For those not watching D3TV, a rain shower hit the track during SC TT1. Stock and SS both completed Q1 - 45 Stockers and 41 SSers.

Stay tuned for the Q-Sheets that will be posted soon.

The rumor is that Round 1 will be run today.

Mike,
The sheets aren't coming through either on my work computer or my phone. Could you try some other format? Usually I can look up qualifying on the live timing site but qualifying isn't posted there yet either.

Re: "LIVE" From Indy D3 LODRS

Everybody got 1 pass today and there was a clean up run for the few cars that came after their class had already run. We were planning to go straight into eliminations this afternoon but it started raining shortly before that. The current plan is to go into 1st round at 8am tomorrow if it should happen to stop raining. The current forecast isn't exactly promising.

Nitro Joe provided this info on the races:

Some of the rules for both events:
1. No Nostalgia cars, must be a legal NHRA or IHRA SS-Stock class car, I have the right to turn a car down if I feel its not right.

2. No heads up runs (all dialed in deal)

3. Rd 1 bye run (if there is one) based off best RT in second time trail session. Rd 1 of eliminations will be random pairing cause I don't want to have to pair over 60 cars in Rd 1 by myself.

4. we will qualifying off of reaction times (first Rd 1 winners) cause we are not going to take time to weigh car and do fuel check. (laddered field after Rd 1)

5. We will run off of IHRA index's (you must dial the index or under is why)
6. Come up to lanes when called, they are running a bracket show, plus 2 other "booked in" shows. I will not wait around, got to keep cars moving.

7. Have fun and hope for a great turnout

Even a hillbilly can read a weather forecast.....I don't know how much pressure NHRA put on our new DD to run this race but.....someone dropped the ball BIG time. A huge congrats for your 45 car fields in stock and superstock. Evidently, a FEW of us refuse to put up with NHRA s bull....

Re: "LIVE" From Indy D3 LODRS

It's official - the race is POSTPONED.

Event Postponed - Ray Skillman Spring Spectacle of Speed

With the amount of rain the venue has received this week, there is water coming up through cracks and flowing through the walls of the drag strip. With only more rain to come, we have decided to postpone the rest of the Ray Skillman Chevrolet Spring Spectacle of Speed until the August event.

We will begin parking on Wednesday, August 9th, one hit on the track on Thursday, August 10th, and then go immediately into eliminations for the postponed event. Friday, August 11th, will begin the normal schedule for the second divisional event here at Lucas Oil Raceway.

All vouchers, that were available at the Ray Skillman Autogroup dealerships, will still be valid for any day admission during the August event. So do not throw those away if you couldn't attend this weekend.

We want to thank the racers who chose to travel and compete this weekend. We certainly were trying to complete this event this weekend but Mother Nature is undefeated. NHRA North Central Division 3 will be posting more information later, and we will be sure to share on our page as well.

In years past when a Points race is rerun ,there is no ladder. The next round run is random pairing. So why can't new entries be accepted???

Because you didn't enter the race BEFORE tech closed.....And because you didn't spend 3 - 4 days of your life at the track, sitting in the rain...and listening to the same old BS stories that you have heard over and over again.....LOL

This is their way of punishing you for not wasting 3-4 days of your life being miserable.

Guys there was no need to waste 3-4 days of your life. Ronzello and I showed up Friday at 9am got our one hit looked at the weather and headed for home at 4PM. and we will still get to race there in Aug. less then one day wasted.

For those of you that did not make the trip to Indy this weekend and want to test /race before Norwalk pts next month.
There is a STK/SS combo at martin MI next weekend on Saturday. time trials at 10am saturday first round around 2pm. $1000 to win and the weather looks good right now.

.

Haha, yeah we left early Saturday morning. But what you failed to mention is the fact that we were on pins and needles that they would run 1 round of stock and we would be first round no shows.

We rolled the dice and won...... this time.

What would be the harm to anyone for opening the race to new entries, other than taking in more money?

What Mike Fuller said, this is a way of NHRA punishing you for not entering & sitting around in the rain for 3-4 days. You cost NHRA money because you did not enter & your $160 entry fee would have been earning them interest for the next 3 or 4 months. NHRA = no common sense, should have postponed the race but instead got a record LOW number of entries for the Indy pts. race. This may be good for the few that are entered but not so good for the racers that have to make the long haul to National Trails, or have to take more time off to race.

I thought the postponed race was going to be run in front of the 2nd points meet at Indy in August. I haven't seen where they moved it to National Trail but I could be wrong.

You are correct, I was thinking the only pts meet in August was trails & BG.

From Div 3 website

Heavy rains during the night Saturday caused flooding of the property especially in the shut down area of the facility. The Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis Staff along with the North Central Division Certification team worked during the night to try to keep up with the high waters but were unsuccessful and Mother nature won the battle. Qualifying for the event is complete and the fields are set for all classes. The continuation of the event will take place August 10th in conjunction with the August 11-13 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event. All classes will receive one time trial starting at 8AM and will be called by class. Once every class receives 1 time trial. eliminations will begin and the event will run until complete on Thursday. After eliminations are complete the track will operate a test n tune for competitors that arrive for the August 11-13 event once the April event is complete. Schedule for the August 11-13 will be out soon.

That race is in Indy...Columbus is the week before. I think......
